This would be overkill if it DID happen. The thing is,it won't,why?Three words: Jungle Cruise Movie.Because when it comes out,Jungle Cruise mainia will breakout meaning if they made pirateland,it would be rethemed into Adventureland, thus reverting to its orginal state.Long Story short Adventureland becomes Pirateland, becomes Adventureland=Waste of money

they would note replace adventureland. there are too many classics there. examples. the jungle cruise, the enchanted tiki room, swiss robinson tree house, etc. this was part of walts dream and they would not go back on that. another reason. its TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!! it would cost millions to re-do everything.

NOOOO! Don't take down my beloved Swiss Family Treehouse! I think the solution to things like this is park expansion. I hate it when they tear down a classic (RIP Mr. Toad) to put up a new, "trendier" ride or attraction. I mean, Disney has the property right? So why not? I would be much happier spending 2 days in MK and ride the classics and the newbies than spending 1 day at the park disgruntled that my Swiss Family Treehouse got tore down for Pirateland ( I don't care how sexy Mr. Depp is! ) I pray it never comes to this.
I wanna bring back up Chrissy's idea way back about National Treasure. This is a GREAT movie and full of adventure, and with the Book of Secrets second film coming out, what do people think about this idea?

Dino-Rama is cool, HOWEVER the Magic Carpets I think was a cheap way of adding Aladdin in the parks, I'm waiting for the Hyperion Theater Aladdin show in DCA to come to Walt Disney World. ANYWAY, if Caribbean Plaza is added as another land to Magic Kingdom after Pirates, I would be fine BUT NOT to take over Adventureland entirely.

As to a couple of the posts above....

I just cant imagine Adventureland going anywhere. Period.

Second, I really like the idea of expansion to add some new rides to the classics including a National Treasure attraction. I really liked those movies...maybe its just me. Probably is from what my friends said about them.

I think a National Treasure attraction could be neat. I'm with a lot of you on the Adventureland vs. Pirateland discussion. I hope that "Pirateland" doesn't materialize. I know that "Pirates" is big now, but I don't know that it's "big" enough to warrant another Pirate-themed attraction (or an entire land). I agree that Disney needs to change (to a point) to keep with "the now", but hopefully not at the expense of a land many people enjoy.

Actually, Walt's dream was to have a family-friendly theme park that was always changing. To not change would change Walt's dream.

I meant the small section of Adventureland that starts after the Enchanted Tiki Room which extends into the end of Frontierland.

We're nearing a year since this idea was first posted, and no change has materialized. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's all it ever was...a rumor. It would be sheer madness to make an entire land themed around one topic. I feel Disney has always offered a little bit for everyone to enjoy. That's why not everyone likes everything, but most people like something. I like pirates, but I'd hate to see the albino pygmy have to wear a khaki pirate outfit.
