Mickey's hat leaving MGM??

now that the epcot sign is coming down and the castle is back to normal is mickey's hat going to dissapear too??? i am now used to MGM with the hat and i dont think it will look the same anymore even though it does block the theater removing it i think will make it look empty.. does anyone know for sure?? and what are other feelings on the hat?

I really doubt that the hat will ever come down. The wand on SSE was to celebrate the millenium and decorated Epcots icon, the Sorcerer Mickey hat is now the icon of the Studios, not just a decoration. If you look on merchandise with all the icons of the parks SSE is shown without the wand and the Sorcerer Mickey hat is shown as the icon of the studios. I'd be really suprised if it ever came down... but I've been wrong before.....

the reason the hat is there is to cover the GMR because it has something to do with the copyrights of the chinese theater

the hat was built to make an "icon" for the park. No one really recognized the theatre as the "icon." Each park has an icon, so unless they decide to build a new icon, the hat isn't leaving!

Plus theres been talk about adding new effects around the hat in 2008.

But the only thing I don't really like about the hat is the fact its a pin store inside & I think there's enough of those around the park. So I have been thinking since the Sorcerer Mickey meet n' greet location has been removed & it is coming to the Animation Building. I truely think it would be wonderful to see the Mickey meet n' greets inside the hat.

The hat, at least if things stay as they are, will not come down... and maybe this is something I'll cover on next week's show, as it's something that people ask about all the time

I like the hat...it's just in the wrong place. They should have put it else where so you can see the theater.

I agree, it blocks the wonderful Great Movie Ride. I like the hat, they just need to put it in a new place.

Like all great "weenies", it sits at the end of the main thoroughfare and draws you further in to the park.
