I hope TT doesnt get a cars overlay. Its awesome the way it is.
Despite rumors last month that the Wonders of Life pavilion may be gutted to make way for a new special events area, there are still rumors suggesting that new attraction ideas are still in discussion for the structure. This has led some to wonder if the earlier rumors were a cover story.
In other news we've heard a new rumor claiming that in advance of attempting to use the Test Track style ride system for a new proposed Cars attraction in California Adventure, Imagineering may be looking at ways to improve and upgrade the Test Track experience. Of course it’s well know that GM hasn’t always been the most pleased with how this attraction turned out, and with the end of their sponsorship deal in sight Disney wants to work with GM to keep them happy and come up with new ideas to keep them on board for not only Test Track but to sign up for the new ride in California as well.

With few exceptions corporate sponsorship of rides and attractions at WDW is declining, and GM is uniquely tied to Test Track. I guess a foreign car maker could take over sponsorship, but Disney would have to prove to them the attraction will pay dividends by attracting customers to the brand and in the end actually selling vehicles. While I have seen some guests requesting information about GM vehicles at the kiosks at the end of Test Track, I have never heard one guest say they were going to buy a new GM car after experiencing Test Track.
Since Disney is a business that was created to make money they have to have short and long-term plans for the resorts and parks. The following information is taken from Disney's 2006 Financial Report.:
Attractions 25 – 40 yearsFurniture, fixtures and equipment 3 – 25 years
Buildings and improvements 40 years
Leasehold improvements Life of lease or asset life if less
Land improvements 20 – 40 years
As you can see Disney will be spending a lot of money in the future to repair/replace/maintain its physical assests. Sometimes, unfortunately, it is good business just to close or tear down an attraction/building to save money, despite what fans want.

Test Track seems to have been having problems since it's opening due in part to the weather having an impact on whether the ride can be open. The computer system had some kinks as well. I think I've actually been in line and not had a breakdown once out of the 4 times I've attempted to ride and that was during my last trip to WDW in May. The weather nearly closed us down that time. I love the ride. I think it's a fun as well as educational, but I don't see why any car company should expect to sell me a car because I rode on TT unless they are wiling to give me a limited time offer coupon to take to my local dealer that says I rode TT and I can have a discount on some part of my purchase of a new car. (Toyota...if you are listening...I am planning to buy a car in the next 10 months.)

i know, i liked nemo but then i thought back on it and remembered that the living seas used to have the hydralater (i think thats what it was) and it had the ride through with all the fish and stuff, and disney has once again brought pixar characters and stuck them where they don't really belong. I have no problem with bringing the pixar characters into the parks, just don't tear down/replace old attactions with them. Make a totally new attraction in a totally new space, then everyone is happy.
they better not put Cars in TT if they do, I'm gonna get some older friends of mine help me organize a Strike on EPCOT because it would be too unbearable to Strike ALL of WDW. I mean TT is a wonderful attraction that you want to ride even if you've literally rode it from 2:00 AM to 9:00 AM with a one hour break for breakfast.
Hey, that might sound awesome to you,(did to me at first) but it isn't when you're pretending you're having the time of your life when it's going two mile per hour when it's supposed to be going at least 60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
does anyone have an explanation on why my Figment isn't bouncing with The Chesire Cat, Tigger, and my Hitch-Hiking Ghost???
Can't run away from Trouble, ain't no place that far.
I totally agree, no more Pixar anywhere on the Disney property, please!!! Look what they did to the Living Seas!!!!! Please, please, please, no more Pixar on Disney atractions!!!!
I'm in the minority when it comes to the Nemo overlay of The Living Seas, it seems. I for one don't understand what's even remotely interesting about a giant acquarium. Hey, look, there are fish here! And there are some fish over there! And, oh my gosh - over there .... there's fish!!. Bah. At least the Finding Nemo exhibits make it a tiny bit worth going to.
I'm with everyone else though - there's no reason to put Cars onto Test Track. Just fix the dang ride so it doesn't break down every few minutes, and it'll be fine. My last trip, we were stuck just before the cooling chamber for a good THIRTY MINUTES. When we finally got off, the CM actually had the hutzpah to "compensate" us by offering to let us go on again. NO THANKS, just get me the heck away from this thing!
I thought the Oddessey Pavilion was the special events area. If Wonders fo Life become sone thayt makes, Oddessey, the old Millenium Palvlion by Canda and England and Wonders of life (not counter the area behind innovatiosn wehere they do character meet and greets as wellas food and wine festival events).
