Next beloved attraction to be removed?

Disney is always changing or removing attractions if we like it or not, they are a business after all. After thinking about this I started wondering what the next beloved attraction will be to leave us. There have been rumors about the Backlot Tour. I hope they dont take out CoP ever! What do you guys think?

I know, this saddens me about disney. I know they are a business and they are constantly changing but everytime they change something it makes me sad

Of course there were many attractions there before I was even born that I never got to ride, and I'm sure some of those are greatly missed. I guess I just want disney world to remain the way it was when I first went there but I know this isn't going to happen.

I have already seen many of my beloved attractions leave: horizons, mr. toad's wild ride, el rio del tiempo (i don't really like the grand fiesta tour), ice station cool (why did they take the frozen tunnel away...?). I miss all of these things a lot. I even miss attractions that weren't my favorite or I never even rode. I never got the chance to ride the skyway and I never rode alien encounter because I was always too afraid to ride it, but I am still sad that these attractions are gone because I remember seeing them as a kid. I also miss the timekeeper, even though this was not one of my favorite attractions. Even more recently in animal kingdom they took out little red, big red, and mrs. jobson from the storyline and this upset me! It's the little things about disney that make me love it so much and it seems like they keep taking these things away from me! Thats not to say that I don't love disney world, because I do love disney world its just that I love the disney world when I was 8 years old more than the disney world now that I'm 16.

One thing in particular is getting on my nerves which is the replacing of disney rides with pixar characters and in some cases, characters in general. I didn't need the laugh floor to replace the timekeeper, I didn't need stitch to replace alien encounter, the three caballeros didn't need to invade el rio del tiempo, and mr. toad didn't need to be replaced by a more popular character that could sell more merchandise.

So thats my rant on disney constantly changing, I know they have to keep changing, and walt would have probably wanted that too, I'm just having a hard time letting go of some of my favorite attractions.

Some things I hope they never change. For one thing I hope they never change the jungle cruise, it is such a classic disney attraction and is perfect the way it is. Another thing is spaceship earth, it is great the way it is and doesn't need to be tweaked. The haunted mansion is currently under refurbishment, I'm actually excited to see what changes are made but I'm kind of scared too, I just hope they don't do too much so it ends up very different from the original attraction. I love the original attraction! I hope splash mountain is there forever, it is my favorite of the three mountains. Since space mountain changed in disneyland I wouldn't be too shocked if they changed the one in WDW, although I would probably be a little sad over this just because I like space mountain the way it is. I actually like the changes made to pirates of the caribbean, but no more changes need to be made. Will and Elizabeth can stay in the movies. The great movie ride isn't a classic, but I still wouldn't want it to be changed. Carousel of Progress should never be removed! It is a classic!!

So yea, that concludes my very long rant on disney world attractions

Hopefully, CoP will be updated and moved to EPCOT instead of being removed permanently, but with Disney nowadays you knows.

I love CoP I hope it never goes. Of course I said that about 20,000 Leagues under the Sea also and we all know what happened there.

Nooooo, I hope that doesnt get removed either! What would the studios be without it? It's probably the most studio-ish (def. not a word, lol) attraction left.

honestly COP could be moved, take down wonders of life and put it there

gmr, meh i never liked it i was always scared ov alien... but its all good there, but i dont think that should be removed, updated definately, but no pirates

backlot... frankly its boring now without all the houses, make it smaller, remove all the extra stuff, you could also possibly shrink it, but i would love to see some sort of coaster there with the new pixar place...
i
t would be nice to see a cars version of dlp's crush's coaster,

and give me some ratatouille/bugs life/toy story play place instead of honey i shrunk the kids.

thats all for now

CoP will never go because it was oricinally buit by Walt for the worlds fair. Also it was Walt's original idea from start to finish. I love that and the song. the only problem is only about 10 people go on it at a time.

I think COP has gotten a revival over the last few years. It was seasonal in 2003 and now it's open all the time.

I too have heard that the Backlot Tour may close to make room for more Pixar stuff. However, the BLT is not nearly the same since they knocked out residential street for L!M!A!ESS (Ugh...I can sooo live w/out L!M!A!)

Question

I'm not very fond of the Backlot tour, but it is a signature ride at the Studios, I would not like to see it go away.

CoP is one of my favorite rides at MK, I would definitely DIE if they took it out. I really don't think they'll do it, since it is one of Walt's original rides and was presented at the world's fair, I doubt they'll take it away, but nowadays, who knows? We'll just have to wait and see,

I agree move CoP to the abandon WoL pavillion, The BackLot Tour would not fit with any other themed park though so that one would be tricky to relocate.

CoP is not going anywhere... in fact, be on the watch for a refurb of CoP... Particularly the last scene... which is scheduled to be updated.... Not sure how or what they will be doing, but, an update is in the works....
