Travel Channel Special Says New Park

Tonight was apparently Disney night on the Travel Channel. Not sure if anyone else caught it but there was a show on the Cruise Lines then a show about Secrets of WDW and then finally a show called WDW Behind the Scenes. What I found most interesting was a one sentence statement made in the last 2 minutes of the Behind the Scenes program.

I know we have multiple threads here on the "new park" rumor (like this one) but I wanted to set this one out seperately because instead of it being some random CM or some random fan who made the comment, this was something very specific said by the show's narrator then furthered by Imagineers.

The comment made by the narrator was: "Animal Kingdom may be the fourth and largest [park at WDW] but it's certainly not the last." This was then followed by a brief shot to a computer screen showing a coaster creation program. Of course they then quickly cut to commercial. When they came back Imagineers continued to comment about the amount of land left to develop on and how of course they aren't stopping here.

Like I said, I know we have quite a few threads over time around the rumor of a new park (and trust me I've read them all LOL) but I was just curious if anyone else caught the show?

Yeah, I saw that. To be honest I hope they hold off at least like 5 years or so, they need to develop the other parks further first.

The show is from either 2003 or 2004. I have seen it about a dozen times.

The core information of that show is a few years old now. They updated it this year and added Everest, Nemo and the newest attractions. That final footage about the future park (or parks) was in the original format of the show.

Disney will never stop building, growing or changing. They're starting w/ the Four Seasons golf resort and the other DTD/Marketplace kind of sections first. I don't doubt another park is in the future. With AK approaching it's 10th anniversary next year, I have a feeling it won't be too much longer before the next project is announced. But that's just my thoughts, I have nothing solid to go on.

It really seemed this show focused so much on newer attractions. May be the same basic info but it was definitely newly reworked. I saw the one that they usually run a few times as well and there was quite a bit different even just in narration and editing of the "older" pieces.

I'm sure Animal Kingdom will not be the last... but, we could get another park in 20 years..... Don't expect a new park for a while.....

I've seen those Travel Channel specials too many times to count, but I dont think they are going to do anything soon. Hopefully sometime though!

yeah i have seen those i love disney night on travel channel i missed last night because i was watching shark week :P
anyways of course disney will make a new park but not in the near future...!

Yeah all this I know... I just found it interesting because it was the first time I ever heard anything even remotely close to official that there would be another park. Everything until this point has been "the janitor at ASMo said" or "this guy on the monorail said" etc. etc. (you get my point).

i still can't believe my mom didn't look interested. but then again, me and my dad are the Disney Fanatics
i hope they make a new park because ( don't kill me ) I can't stand AK i don't know why excatly, but i don't like it.

also, isn't that new park supposed to be all Roller Coasters and Thrills??? or is my Inside Resource wrong???

Actually, that show has been recently update to 2006-2007, because it shows the Seas pavilion, Monsters Inc. Comedy Club, and the Nemo Musical. Also, that computer-design of a roller coaster looks similar to the California Adventure coaster California Screamin'.

notice they wait about 11 years between each park opening.

MK: 1971
EPCOT: 1982
MGM: 1989
AK: 1998

so there should be a new park soon. look for it to be on the west side of the property.

I still think it will be more likely that expansion will be in the current parks for several more years. Wouldn't you like to see another major attraction in AK or even in Studios. I would.
