I heard that the shop operated by The Cheesecake Factory shut down, but a similar Disney-operated shop opened in its place.
I don't foresee this closing anytime too soon - espeically with the risk of so many other vacant spots, Disney doesn't want to have a ghost town on their hands.![]()
Check out free high resolution Disney World Pictures and Disney Vacation information.
It shut in Chicago very quickly. Its price was ridiculous. I would anticipate Disney bowing out of the DTD one as soon as they can
gracefully without impacting that area.
Have you seen Pleasure Island? "Gracefully" and "without impacting" I don't think factor in to it.
I think DisneyQuest does well enough at the Orlando location, but they may have overestimated the market for it's name elsewhere.
But is someone else made a serious play for the location such that Disney could simply rent the location, I bet they would. But they have other locations to fill now...

I have really enjoyed DisneyQuest every time I have been. We usually go if there is a strong chance of an all day rain.

I have been to disney quest it was ok for a raining off day from the parks, but I would love to see a huge walt disney museum here or at the soon to be gone virgin mega store site.
When hinges creak, in doorless chambers. And strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls. Whenever candlelights flicker, where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present. Practicing their terror, with ghoulish delight!
Welcome! Foolish Mortals, to the Haunted Mansion, I am your host, your ghost host.

No DQ by 2014. Gone in 5 years. Contractual obligations keep it running.
No idea what "contractual obligations" it has to anyone to keep it alive for 5 years. If Disney wants it closed because an empty building is preferably like most of Pleasure Island, then they will close it.
About the only complication I can think of is the annual/seasonal passes that include it. Disney had to give pro-rated discounts to passholders when the PI clubs closed down.
For now, it appears that Disney considers it worth it.

I went to Disney Quest once during a vacation somewhere around '06. It was ok, but I really didnt have alot of fun there. The best part was this arcade bowling game, which I must have spent about an hour playing, but it wasnt even a main attraction there, lol. It was ok and even though I didnt really like it, I would try it again and give it a second chance.

"You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality." ~ Walt Disney
My family LOVES Disney Quest!! We spend at least one full day there and a few half days there.... it was part of our decision to buy Premium AP this past year! We spent more time at DQ than at water parks. It's a bummer when it's crowded, but I am not a big video game player, but even I had fun! I would hate to see it go -- I have 4 kids (and DH would be kid #5) and they go to DQ while I go shopping ... works great for us!

We also love Disney Quest!!!!! I love those Buzz AstroBlasters! If you ever see a 14 year old girl driving crazily with my mom or dad shooting, watch out.Disney Quest is great! Anyway, two trips ago we heard it was closing also, so my dad made sure we went to Disney Quest before it went away. We went, had a blast, but didn't see a sign that said 'closing soon' or something. Finally, my mom asked a cast member if it was closing and the cast member gave her a weird look. He told her that they weren't planning to close. We were confused. I have no idea if it will actually close. I hope it doesn't though!
