I just searched the MSNBC website and did not find any info on this, but his rumor has been going around for a few years
I wouldn't think that Disney would build a park in Russia. Mostly because people don't typically think about Russia as a vacation spot. There are other reasons, but to keep things P.C., I'll leave those out.
I didn't know they were even considering a park in Russia.
Anything's possible I guess. I never would have thought they would have built a park in China, but they did.
When Disneyland opened, there is the story of the Russian leader wanting to visit, but the governement officials wouldn't permit it (height of cold war and all that stuff). So he vowed to build a park and call it Miracle land. I don't think it worked very well...
My inner nerd at work:
Wasn't that Khrushchev? I think it was because he was in L.A. for a conference and wanted to go and the Secet Service told him that it was to dangerous. Then he got mad. I don't blame him, If I was in L.A. and they wouldn't let me go to Disneyland, I would be pretty mad too!
It would be a change for sure to build a park in Russia, lets hope it is not in Siberia.
I thought it was a little unusual too when I heard it but any chance of a new Disney theme park I get excited
