I love Carousel of Progress but they do need to do ALOT of updates(the last time I was there, probably in every row there was at least one seat broken)! and for the line, you have to remember, there is alot of seatings. and the sections are usually somewhat full. And the rumor, yeah I have heard that for awhile, will it happen, maybe eventually, but probably not for awhile

CMs always claim about the Villains park themed with Kingdom Hearts as well and I would get into arguments with others CPs over that and the MGM name change because of the lawsuits that were filed. I'll take this with the Villains park or the new Night Kingdom rumors with a grain of salt until I hear otherwise.

I'd be surprised to see this one go, seeing as how it was so close to Walt's heart. I do think it could use an update, though, granted that the last scene is looking more familiar than different.
I would hate to see CoP go because the model for the orange tree in the last scene is from my parent's back yard.
My room mate at the time was fabricating the orange tree and happend to be at my parent's house when the the tree was full of fruit and he used it as the model to make the orange tree.
The tree is dead and my parent's no longer live there so it would be sad for me to see it go.
I read on WDW News Today that there might be a big overhaul of the attraction in 2010 or 2011 for MK's 40th anniversary. Here's the link: “Now Is The Time” To Stop Worrying | WDW News Today

It would be Disney's worst idea if they were to take the COP down! It is a disney ICON!!! It's the First ride in Tomorrowland that we always ride and if it wasn't there what would i start my trip into the future on? So not liking this!!!!
I would be absolutely heartbroken if Disney decided to take away the CoP. It's so classic and it is a reflection of Walt himself and how he loved the American family and the concept of progress. I'm not happy about this idea at all and I know my fiance will be crushed too. (He loves CoP!)
It wouldn't be a "great, big, beautiful tomorrow" without it in the Magic Kingdom.

Interesting rumor - just today I read at 'mouseplanet' that Imagineering had filed a permit for a Carousel of Progress poster
I have a question, and it may be a silly one, but that's ok. What exactly is meant by "poster"? Like, an ad, the kind you see as you're driving into WDW...?
unfortunately I have no other info regarding exactly what Imaginering is actually doing; I can only assume that they are developing a new promotional attraction Poster.
they better not get rid of CoP that is the best ride in WDW!!
