You are right. And it's not like anything would happen anytime soon since their main focus is going towards the California Adventure revamp. That will take up a lot of time and money. So I think we will see steady improvements on our parks at the world while the work goes on in California. Then after all that, maybe think about doing something else. I don't know what, just something.

The current rumor of the fifth park as reported on everyone's favorite Disney news source, Jim Hill Media, isn't a villain park but a lose-recreation of Discovery Bay/Cove in Sea World themed to Animal Kingdom to go on at night. I'm sorry but I would not like that at ALL.

That's stupid. If they were to do that, why wouldn't they just add it to AK?

Yeah, but it is a strange rumor that I can't buy into besides that the fact local Orlando media has bought the Jim Hill Media article of "Night Kingdom".

Well again, if you read the article that started this thread you'll see it's a "fantasy", not a news article or even a rumor mill type thing. It's a story.
Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

I still think the Villians concept would work better as a land in MK rather than a whole park

Here's an article from imdb (although I have no idea how reliable it is. . .): Movie & TV News @ IMDb.com - Studio Briefing - 14 March 2008 (4th one down)
Dropping out and moving to Disney World because characters only have to be sixteen.

Mustard! Now let's not be silly!

Let's get this from the source, as opposed to second-hand.

Disney Exploring Possibility Of Adult-Oriented Theme Park - News Story - WFTV Orlando

Not such a done deal as the IMDB story would lead you to think.

My thoughts: I think the idea of a villain park is one that COULD be done well, IF they don't try to make it an exclusively adult/teen thrill-ride park. Remember when Snow White's Scary Adventure didn't have "scary" in the title, but the actual ride lacked any Snow White (because she was supposed to be YOU, duh) and was ten times scarier than what they have now? That version of the ride functioned well in Fantasyland for years. Just as some villains are scarier than others, so too could the rides vary in intensity. I agree that Maleficent's castle would be awesome. And sure, there's lots of room for a thrill ride that bumps it up a notch, just as every Disney thrill ride built in the last 15 years has risen one step further than the last. I suppose this could also apply to a Villain-themed land in MK.

Oh, and though I don't think the Villain world should be exclusively thrill-themed, I think it would be fantastic if Alien Encounters found a new home there. I miss Skippy/Scruffy.

I wouldn't call that a 5th gate per se since it will be a boutique park if its done

In my opinion while we would all like a fifth gate to drool about, I think we are not likely to see one. There is a lack of good workers and all the parks have a hard time getting enough good personnel for them. I think we are likely to see improvements and expansions to the existing parks and I actually like that better than a fifth gate.
