Disney buying back Disney store?

The very last store in Iowa is closing...

Although (and I know this is going to sound mean), I can't say that I'm surprised or disappointed that the Davenport IA store ended up on the Remaining Stores list. The store has been a very poor example of the Disney Magic the past two years and the mall has a history of very high lease rates.

Where did you find your list?
The list Pat posted has Danbury, Westfarms and TRumbell being on the "stay open" list

Manchester Meriden and Waterford are on the closing list

The original list was preliminary only - submitted for the initial bankruptcy filing. As the proceedings progressed, the parameters would have obviously changed. One important factor not accounted for on the initial list was most likely the mall owner's willingness to renegotiate a favorable lease with Disney. Stores affected by the initial wave of closings (more will likely some as time goes on) have all been notified. Best way to know the fate of your local TDS is to give them a call and ask.

This second list was posted on another message board by a real estate developer. She was sent the list of stores closing as their leased space would be available in case she had any customers interested in buying out the lease.

But, what I was trying to point out is that, even though the other list was an actual document, it was not cast in stone. That's the way bankruptcy proceedings work...kinda like a divorce. You give a list of what you want and it gets revised over and over until you come up with a final agreement.

The best thing to do is just call the stores and ask. I'm pretty sure they all know by now. The signage for the inventory clearance sale has been sent out - as well as "wind down" instructions. Most expect to be through their inventory in four to six weeks.

You have a good point. We are due to visit one of these tow stores in the next few weeks to pick up my parents' park tickets. Guess I'll find out then.

I stopped by our local store yesterday and spoke with the manager - they said my store was not closing and he showed me the official list. It looks a lot like the one Stitch posted. He did tell me about the stores closing in the state and in Michigan.

I am VERY happy now!

My wife is bummed big time as the one NJ store closing is one of the 3 that are convenient, the original list she saw had another NJ locale getting bumped too.

Guess the only way confirmation will ever be known is the day you show up and the lights are off.

****Connecticut Disney Store Update****

All CT stores except Westfarms Mall (West Hartford) are closing.
Waterford (closest one to me) has about 6 weeks left.

You might want to call ahead and find out. If they are one of the stores slated for closing, I'm pretty sure they have sent all tickets and Disney Dollars to one of the stores remaining open. Since the closing stores are being managed by a liquidating company, I highly doubt they will be allowed to sell admission media and DD.

I am soooo upset!! I went by the Disney Store on my break on Sunday and saw the "Everything Must Go" signs everywhere, so I went and talked to the manager and that's when she told me Blvd. was closing too! It was bad enough that McKinley was gone, now all of them??? I'm mad!

Plus, where am I gonna go on my breaks at work, now?? The next closest one is Syracuse, so looks like I'm gonna have to do all my Disney shopping online now

My wife called our Cincinnati area store and she was told they were going to keep the tickets they have to sell but they are not getting anything else in. I called the Dayton area store and it has now been confirmed as being added to the closing list. So that's it. No Disney magic in my area.
