Could someone post some more info if you've attended in the past? I think it sounds like a blast, and I'll be at the world sept 30-oct 9 so I'd love to check it out. I'm wondering what its like, how much the tickets were, if you spent the day in the park and stayed for the event or came just for it?
We were on a strict budget last year...on the day of the Halloween party, we did JUST THE HALLOWEEN party. Party is from 7pm-12am, but you can get in at 4pm..which we absolutely did! There are TONS of characters you don't see too often. The park is practically empty. The longest line we waited in was 10 minutes...and that was just to see Winnie the Pooh!! The parade was FANTASTIC and the VILLAINS show was perfect! The whole park really does transform and it gives a great excitement. Trick or treating, characters dressed up in costume, scary music, etc. I'm going back this year! OCTOBER 16TH!
It was the best Magic Kingdom trip I've ever had!!
PS--I think we paid 35 bucks for the tickets and it was well worth it.
Beware, the Haunted Mansion wait was up to 45 mins...fast pass that one! Everything else was WALK ON!

I have a question. We're going to MNSSHP for the first time this October. Do the majority of adults go in costume?

Yes. The majority actually do go in costume. Although I did see quite a few semi-costumes. Like "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" tshirts, a princess tiara and a shirt that said "princess"..lots of stuff like that. But I would say the majority were actually dressed in full costumes. A lot of pirates! Here are some pics of adult costumes...

I've gone to MNSSHP the past seven years in a row and have never worn a costume...unless you count my Halloween themed t-shirt. My Pal Mickey, on the other hand, has a new costume every year. I would say it's a pretty even split between costumed and non-costumed adults. Whichever direction you choose, you won't feel out of place.
That's good. I'm not against costume wearing, but it's not for me.

I went 2 years ago and just loved it. We loved seeing all the decorations, the parade, hallowishes, the characters in costume, and the walk on rides which we didn't do too many of those.
Mike and I did wear costumes but nothing too fancy. This year when we go we are getting customized Mickey Mouse Club tshirts made from the disney website and being mousketeers. Quick and easy! It was kinda hot and rainy when we went so we don't want to overheat this year.
I'll see what pictures I can dig up as well.
I see there are still no prices yet... I'll keep checking!
