    Say it isn't so...

Rumors have begun to swirl about the old 20,000 Leagues Lagoon.. No, forget Memo and the Little Mermaid...

The word on the street (or in the Utilidors) is that there are plans for a Hundred Acre Woods-themed play area for children.

    Ugh.

I'm all for digging up the old subs and bring back the funny little trip to Vulcania, but hey, that's just me...

I heard that as well. I cannot believe that they would do that. Pooh is great and all, but that area needs to be used for something better than a meet and greet.

I also heard that it would be opened up to Toon Town to create a second entrance to the area.

I hadn't heard about the Pooh thing, but I did hear that demolition of the Lagoon could begin as soon as April 19.

Man, I would really hate to see the old 20K Lagoon go. I liked that attraction, and hate to see the originals be demolished like that. And for POOH? Ugh.

you could always go out to Cali Lou. The same rumors have their subs possibly get a new life with the long rumored Nemo theme.

    I've heard that as well...

Although I'm not sure the old subs will cut it. Part of the reason for their de-commissioning was the access to them. They were very slow to load and unload, and if you were physically disabled, you were relegated to watching from the shore.

20K Leagues, last chance for pics...

Beginning Monday, April 19, a construction wall will go up around the site of the former 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction. This will begin a seven-month project to clear the land as well as add landscape for future use. WDW did not say what exactly will be done.

Me too. I will be stopping by tomorrow to take the last pics of it. Didn't get there today until the sun was setting. Though it won't be much to take a pic of at least I will have what it did look like.

Any chance anyone has this attraction on video or in pictures? Or even know of links to any resources no matter how bad the quality.

I know I have ride audio (which may be from DL)....

I do have a ride video in Real (yuk) format... I'll try and post it tomorrow when I get a chance!

I found the file, but it's in Real Video format (yuk).

Unfortunately, there really is no easy way to covert it to something like AVI or MPEG easily, so here's a link to the file: (it's about 6MB, so be patient while downloading)
