My friend who works at WDW in the marketing office said that the park is slated for demo for a new attraction to be placed within.
But that is just what I have heard from an inside sorce.

Not that I'm doubting you about the pipping problem but I've heard Disney is not doing a lot of things lately because of money. I understand if its completely logical, but lately they do anything because of costs. Everything they plan on comes to "well it will cost to much" or also "it can't be done the land is to unstable and it would cost to much". Disney Built on a Swamp....the last time I checked They proped up a few million pound sphere and Did what most engineers said couldn't be done. Money is or know how, are not an issue for Disney.....it's willingness to spend money to execute the know how. As for river country they want it closed. They can fix the plumbling if they want or if thats really the issue. Disney suffers from lack of Drive.
ah.. back in the day when river country was open it was great to swim in the old fishing hole, swing from the swings, walk across the rope bridge. for those who never have experienced it, in its time there was nothing like it. sadly, along came the big, bright, blizzard beach and typhoon lagoon. it was one of the only areas that us campers could call a place of our own..![]()

MICKEY 98 :pirate:
I heard that the bacteria level in Bay Lake and the 7 C's Lagoon was too high for swimming. Most Florida lakes aren't healthy for swimming anyway. When RC closed, the beaches at resorts on Bay Lake and 7 C's Lagoon were closed also. Other resorts on bodies of water (ie Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs) don't permit swimming in their lakes.Originally Posted by AKQJ10

I also heard about the water problems at River Country - don't know about the validity of it. My theory is that it was due to RC not having the slides (ok, so they had 2) and such that TL and BB have, which probably meant RC didn't draw as big of crowds - aka it didn't make as much money.
Princess Jas,
You aren't possibly suggesting that Disney would close an attraction or park simply becuase it's not making as much money?!![]()

Of course not, 4Mickey, I REALLY believe that Disney does everything for the good of society rather than a profit. It's so touching! I cannot believe you thought I would say that!

It was probably especially made for the water parks. They have underwater mickey suits they use at the Living Seas.
