Tickets Prices Rumored to Increase Aug. 6?

I just read a rumor in a newsletter that WDW ticket prices are rumored to increase August 6th.

I was going to wait until just before my Labor Day trip to purchase my new AP (mine expired in June and I didn't renew because I wasn't going to WDW for 3 months) but I'm going to purchase buy it this week just in case. It may be just a rumor but better safe than sorry.

I always buy tickets before the prices go up. I've done it for the last 2 years and just save them. I have to look into renewing my AP before they go up too.

You can only renew your AP 30 days or less prior to expiration, and usually up to 30 days after the expiration date. Ours expire in February 2009, so we will be paying the new rate. I just hope Disney decides to make the increase a small one.

Price increases are not a rumor any more...Orlando Sentinel had an article saying MYW tickets are going up 3-8%, and the Park Hopper Option is going up $5 to $50.

The DVC Member web site also published the new AP prices prematurely, with the regular AP going up $21 for adults and $18 for kids, and the PAP going up $20/$18. Renewals had similar increases, although I don't know the exact amounts.

Prices are to go in effect Sunday.

I tried ordering a couple MYW tickets for the kids for next April, but the only option online for delivery was "will call", and for that far in advance I want to get them in my hands to avoid confusion (we will be down there in October as well).

Wow, I'm certainly happy now that I bought my AP online at 5:30 a.m. yesterday. I was given all the usual options for delivery, nothing was blocked out early yesterday morning.

There's a few threads out there on this topic but yes, as said above, this is no longer a rumor.

Wow, its a good thing we renewed our APs before they expired. I can't believe thier raising the prices that much with the economy the way it is....but I guess Disney has to survive too.
