How about having a joint sponsorship between GM and Ford? They may be rivals, however, I think they are in the same boat. Keep it American!!!

I really don't care who sponsors it, I just want it sponsored. I may not entirely like Test Track BUT, I do think that if that were to go down the tubes due to the lack of sponsorships like a Horizons, World of Motion or Wonders of Life, they would drastically need another "family thrill attraction" in Epcot to fill that gap in.

I agree, WDWTraveler46! I would really hate to see it lost its American co sponsorship. Especially since the auto industry is such a great part of American history. GM-Ford joint deal or any of the NASCAR, Firestone ideas are great too.

I think if they use even a penny of the bailout money to sponsor Test Track, they would catch so much grief. I'm sad to see GM go, but maybe this will make way for sponsorship from NASCAR, Ford, and/or one of the Tire companies.

Or how about this, one of the oil companies can throw a couple million dollars into the attraction. They have money. They have no problem raising their prices with gas, why can't they give back to America and the CM's by investing in Disney! They can use the attraction to promote alternative fuels.

Just a thought.

Haha, no.

The ride would still 101 more than any ride due to a fleet of somewhere around 20 cars on the track each with computers and 4 tires that blowout a lot quicker than the tires you use on the road.

As for Ford & GM teaming up, it won't happen. IF GM survives (and I hope they do) their egos would not allow it. NASCAR, Firestone, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Michelin, Toyota or Honda would indeed be the best bet. And with Toyota having the TRD(Toyota Racing Developement) program, it would be an easy fit. All you need to do is put Michael Waltrip and Kyle Busch in the pre-board video.

If you read the article in question, at the bottom, it addresses the Toyota angle. They've been looking at TT for a while, though they wouldn't discuss it.

My husband and I rode it last October when our car broke down....it kept saying 'Left.....left.....left.....left...." starting in the heat room But we still were able to finish the ride....then everyone in our car got a free ride and taken to the front of the line. Those kind of breakdowns we can handle!

I love the NASCAR idea. They could modify it to just fly around the outside a few times and add a dual track so cars could "race". We have a racing coaster here in Ohio at Cedar Point that guests love.

I was thinking more of Time Trials or a test center of the cup cars or something like that. I don't think a racing Test Track can work to be honest.

Against popular belief NASCAR is also suffering during this hard economic time. I dont think NASCAR would have that kind of money to support this attraction, they have cut prices on all of their tickets and souviners. In this rough economy it will be hard to get another sponsor if GM does have to cut ties.
