Reaction to Are you 23, D23 club?

So what do you think of the D23 club? For me it is underwhelming to say the least, I will go get the magazine at B&N, but the club I don't think so, unless I have a burning desire to buy a $850.00 pen!

Yeah, I have to agree. I was so excited to see what this is all about and I was a bit disappointed. I'm, of course, still waiting for the "official email" or announcement and for the site to be opened up again (at least I can't get into it). Yes, I will buy the magazine and I'll look into what it is all about but I'm not "feeling the love" for it yet.

Just got the email. I knew this was what it was already but just got the confirmation now. For me it is not worth it. To me it sounds more of a Disney California club than an all of Disney club. If the magazine is availble to purchase at my local bookstore I might pick it up but all the other items that are included just do not spark my interest.

I was kind of disappointed . I may have gotten it if was not $75.

If you plan on buying the magazines in the stores (~$64) the membership is really only about $10 more and you get all the extras.

Rumors were that it would be $100...so in that respect, it is cheaper.

Discount codes for disneyshopping.com apparently work with it is well.

EDIT: Discount codes are not working. People seem to have indicated that they worked, but they have at least amended the offers now to exclude anything D23 related. So no discount on that $850 pen.

I joined up. I figure if nothing else it's like being a part of Disney history, plus I think it's going to be pretty cool. I am already enjoying the website with their fun facts and up to minute updates.

75 bucks is pretty steep, I think I'll pass, but the magazine does look very interesting. I'll just pick up a Celebrations magazine subscription instead!

I think it seems pretty cool, even if i can't make it to the expo. I LOVE the new magazine, and as stated earlier, it is $64 to buy the magazine 4 times a year, and I think i'll give up the extra $11 so that I can get the certificate, a "special gift" and the membership card. I also like some of the pins, too. I figure, I'll try it for 10 extra dollars and if I like the benefits, ok, if I don't I won't renew next year. I like the pins and some of the shirts, but im not too sure about the $900 pen.... :/ I'll give it a try.

I'm not to impressed with D23 so far. The $850 pen does come with a great display box and uses standard refills, so that's a plus. For $75, I can get 12 issues of Celebrations Magazine....

I think that $75.00 is a bit much too....but I really want the charter member pin. I didn't see too much else that I'd buy....but I really want that pin. Guess I could wait for it to show up on Ebay but....I could just not renew next year. That might be the plan.
