It sounds far-fetched to me. They're letting people go left and right & we're supposed to believe Disney's gonna lay down 520 million dollars to open a park that has a 2 to 1 ratio of castmembers to guests? Unlikely.
I thought this was dead for now. Anybody know if this story has any weight?
It mentions the Adventurers Club too!!!
Jim Hill : Night Kingdom to reimagine the Disney-theme-park-going experience

This article by Jim Hill was published over a year ago. Since that time Jim has reported on his podcast that this project is on hold due to the economy.
Given the success of Discovery Cove I think this is a real possibility but not by 2011.
This sounds like a kind of adult park, that doesn't seem to appeal to most of the families, etc. visiting WDW. Why not invest that money on another theme park, which is almost sure to draw All WDW guests to it, not just the ones that have an extra $300 to throw out... I'm not sure that I like the idea. Pleasure Island was ok, but an entire theme park? Nah.... why not just make a Disneyland Pennsylvania![]()

The Golden age never was the present age… but with human liberty we can fulfill the promise and meaning of America. To everyone a chance. To all people, regardless of their birth the right to live, to work, to be themselves, and to become whatever their visions can combine to make them. This is the promise of America...And I foresee the American adventure to continue for a long, long time!

Are you 23? I am!
It doesn't quite sound like a typical Disney theme park, so we'll wait and see.
Why would Disney pay $512 million for a night time park where they can use that money to finish pop where I think they will get more money. I do not think this will ever happen. Anyways it is Jim Hill... I dont believe stuff he says.

From my source, it sounds like it will be near Pleasure Island, and be more along the lines of a Discovery Cove type experience. With an associated resort that's aimed at attracting conventioneers. All aimed at the adult guest, over the families with small kids.
I don't think it's at the top of the list of stuff that will be built, though.
I am hearing other rumors other than it being a so called "adult park" I heard that the fifth park is either going to be a roller coaster park to top off Cedar Point, A Villain Themed Park or a Combination of the two a roller coaster themed park

there never be a true 5th gate. maybe a boutique park but never a 5th gate
I could see a true 5th park being built, but not in the near future. I hope that Disney is smart enough to fully develop their existing parks (Animal Kingdom) before even considering a new one.
