I'm so horribly excited. I normally get sad when they change a classic ride, but they're putting a lot of thought into this.

This is very exciting! I think it is a great idea to get a whole new ride experience - and relatively cheaply for Disney. Can't wait to see it!

Yup, thought you all might enjoy seeing that. I'm excited. Rumors have flown around for years about rehabs but this time it looks like they've invested in it. Even if they don't update the technology on the ride the film aspect will give it a more modern look. Odd to be calling it an modern update for a ride that takes place in the future.

Re: ST production rehab finally

I've said this elsewhere, but I think the "reporter" made a huge jump to assume it is necessarily Star Tours. The characters, scenes, etc. don't necessarily make sense for it. It still may be, but I'll wait for more info.

There is another article somewhere that said in an interview with Anthony Daniels he let slip that he recorded his part for ST2, but that the reporter couldn't say anything until something more "official" was released - and he's now telling since this other (hardly official) article is being picked up everywhere. But I also remember Daniels saying that before...

Re: ST production rehab finally

I'm glad to see the response is overwhelmingly positive!

Would you like to see it in 3D or do you think a 2D upgrade is all it needs?

Re: ST production rehab finally

Am so glad its getting rebooted. When I first went in 99 I was pretty bummed by it. The build-up as you move through was great but the ride itself? well I was pretty under-whelmed. They obviously had the licences in place so why have a non Star Wars character as your pilot.....anyway hope to hear more detail of what the story is .......please no Jar Jar!!!!!

Re: ST production rehab finally

I think the rehab would be just fine in 2D. I think for some people a simulator ride alone causes sickness, just imagine how much those feelings would be intensified by adding 3D to the ride. In addition I believe the simulators are being enhanced, so I think they will move more violently and be more intense then ever. This would contribute even more to motion sickness.
