Halloween in DHS

Early in 2008 I read a couple of articles/blogs that Disney were going to use Nightmare Before Christmas as the basis for a new Halloween attraction at DHS. Nothing has been mentioned since apart from a couple of friends also mentioning they had heard that.

Is there anything more substantial to this or was it just one of ideas that Disney toy with and dont actually make reality?

Re: Halloween in DHS

I would be very surprised that DHS would try to compete with MK for a Halloween event. Until MNSSHP is sold out every night, I would expect that the emphasis would stay in MK. It does sound like a neat idea, however.

Re: Halloween in DHS

Unless it was a consideration at the time to change the theme and move it to DHS??? They did move Grad Night out. May happen in the future, if they try and keep it fresh and attempt to bring more people who have bored with the event at the MK year after year.

Personally, I went to both Halloween and Christmas Parties from early on,
they changed a great deal over time and I'm not sure if it is too redundant or they have lessened the perks and raised the prices that it just doesn't interest me as much anymore. Now a new theme at a new park, maybe.

Re: Halloween in DHS

It is a good rumor and would add something to DHS in the fall. In the spring, Epcot has the flower festival while DHS has SWW. A Halloween theme at DHS in the fall would complement Food & Wine at Epcot.

Re: Halloween in DHS

If I remember correctly from the article it seemed to have been given consideration as the NBC theme was already popular in Disneyland and they beleived that Universal were looking to add a "family" Halloween experience to run alongside the Horror Nights......agree that its slightly odd given the success of MNSSHP.......would hope if they dont go ahead then they could add the NBC characters into the MNSSHP parade at some point

Re: Halloween in DHS

I am amazed that Disney hasn't zoomed in on the popularity of Nightmare Before Christmas. It would make an amazing dark ride/attraction. But then again I am amazed that Disney has chosen to ignore a lot of their historical characters and focus on the hot properties.
