It might be a coincidence, but...those Imagineers!
So. I was in Epcot recently... a few weeks ago, running to catch a boat to get to Japan for a dinner reservation. While on the boat, I looked over at each of the countries of the World Showcase and when I got to Morocco... I noticed something (that I'm sure you all noticed too.) The Tower of Terror was like RIGHT behind all of Morocco so that it seriously looked like one of the buildings of the Morocco Pavillion... and believe me, I'm positive it was TOT. Know what I mean though? It was like part of the theming! So does anyone know if that was just a coincidence... or no? Or did no one else notice it? Who knows. It's cool though.

Por favor mantanganse alijado de las puertas.
I've heard about this on a thing on the Travel Channel. I think it was the special about the Imagineers, but I'm not positive. I do remember though that they said that making it look like it belongs in Morocco was planned.
I have posted this somewhere on this site, I just don't recall what thread.
I learned it from the Mouse itself in an Architecture Tour I took back in 1999.
The Tower of Terror was indeed designed to "mesh" with Morocco.
Talk about attention to detail

As you enter World Showcase go towards Mexico. when you are about halfway there look across the lagoon towards Morocco, you will also see the top part of the ToT. Keep walking toward Mexico until you line up Morocco's tower in between the 2 points of the ToT, and you will "see" what will now look as 3 towers.Originally Posted by tjcoolgirl15
If I recall correctly the spot will be around the 2nd or 3rd trash can from the gift shop.

Yep. They even lit it different on the backside (ToT) to blend in, in a unique way.
That's pretty cool. I'll look out for that next time I go.

This is just one great thing about Disney. They always have so many little cool details. It's what makes it is magical.![]()

Yep! I can confirm that this is true. Tower of Terror was repainted from it's original purplish (?) colour to the same orangy-sand colour of the Morroccan pavilion. It was intended to stop it sticking out like a sore thumb and blend in so guests don't really notice...which has clearly worked!!![]()

I still love the story of the Imagineers Vs. the FAA during the TOT construction. True or not, it's fantastic!

Here are two pictures I took last May: The first is Morocco with ToT to it's right, the second is with the buildings lined up. They were taken along the walkway around World Showcase Lagoon, between the Friendship boat dock and the Mexico Cantina. That's one of the torches on the left in the second shot.
