40th Anniversary

Sorry if this has been posted already (although i couldn't see it), does anyone know if there will be anything special for the 40th anniversary in 2011?

I can't imagine there would not be, but do not think it will involve a giant birthday cake at the end of Main Street.

Hmmm, I missed the whole pepto-cake fiasco - was in college with no $$ to go to WDW. Have to say I am ok with having missed it. Hope they do something cool for the 40th though!

Highly doubt there will anything special for the 40th anniversary, it's not exactly one of those important dates. Disney will probably just wait till the 50th to do something big.

I think the 40th will be big for WDW, as the 40th was a big celebration at DL. Here is an example of DL's 40th festivities.

Oh I think Disney will have some big plans for WDW's 40th. I don't think it will just slide by without notice.

maybe not for the 40th but the maybe in 2021 they will open a new park for the 50th

I know this is a LONG way off, but I personally am excited for 100 years of Disneyland. The best part is I'll be in my 60s when that happens.

I would imagine Disney doing something for the 40th, but what exactly I don't know, but I wouldn't expect it to be huge.

Well that cake holds a lot of memories for me.... my first trip was during the 25th anniversary. I can't wait to be there for the 40th!!!

I'll be 40 that same year, so I'm hoping I can celebrate at WDW whether they are having a lot of festivities or not.

I was there for the 20th, 25th and 30th so thought the 40th would be a good as any reason to return... And then the 50th, not that I'm a WDW addict :-)
