Just for the record, it's considered a "redneck" sport in the southeast, too. I don't get the whole NASCAR thing, but then I was raised on Bama football (totally un-"redneck" of course ) and golf. I don't get watching a bunch of cars drive around and around for hours, but then a lot of people don't get chasing a little white ball down a pasture with a metal stick into a very small hole. It does seem to me that most who love NASCAR don't mind the whole redneck thing.

As for TestTrack, I don't really care who rescues it... I just hope somebody does.

Doesn't Test Track have too many turns for Nascar? I mean it's just one big left turn!

Quite honestly....Speed. In cars that look similar to the ones we drive daily although not looking like they did in years gone by. Test Track offers speed and a lot of it while turning left. I dont know that it fits the Future theme either.
As for people in other parts of the country not liking it, we here in the south know this is true. We would love for Nascar to bring our sport back home. We love it and miss it. We will fill the stands every week, every where. Redneck sport? You bet it is. YEE HAW!

I can see Toyota or Honda taking over since they seem to be the most successful companies in the automobile industry... but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I would hate to see Toyota or Honda take it over. I would love to see Ford sponser it though! Ford didn't take any of the government money and they have that new ecoboost engine. If that engine gains popularity, that would be great for Ford and this would be a wonderful way of displaying and advertising it!

Yes, for the twice a year they do road courses, they say, "See, we can turn right too!"

Most of the time, their slogan is, "Drive fast...turn left."

    Re: test track

From what I understand, GM worked out a deal with Disney at the beginning of 2010 to keep Sponsoring Test Track on a month-by-month basis.
