I know they use it for special events (like the Flower Show) and other conventions (usually for Disney employees), so they keep it around. The place needed a major overhaul. So far most of the pavillions got them. Now we need to so something about The Universe of Energy and (hopefully) Wonders of Life.
Its open for a garden showcase thing that has some places to purchase garden-type supplies, a bonsai display, a little movie about putting Epcot together for Flower & Garden, and they have little presentations about garden related topics. I guess the building will be open until Flower & Garden is done.
I must say this Microsoft rumor is quite exciting, and I hope a sponsorship deal is worked out. I miss Wonders of Life so much! Future World just isn't the same without it. Sure they're using it now for Flower and Garden, but rest assured Disney WILL re-open it someday. All they're waiting for is a sponsor. Yes there are a few exceptions to the rule, but these pavilions NEED sponsorship in order to survive. So once a sponsor is secured, the pavilion will re-open. The only question is: Will it re-open as Wonders of Life or something completely different?!!
"America, keep on flying now. Keep your spirit free. Facing new frontiers."
This is a pavilion that needs to be re-opened... not even a question... what if Microsoft sponsers an update to Body Wars, and even adds another attraction within it... It sure would put WoL back on the map... literally considering that in some maps Disney denies that it still exists...
And if it reopens, will they stay with Body Wars as the primary attraction? Or will they add something in to enhance the experience? Nearly every pavillion has received a nice update to their ride (Soarin', Mission Space, Test Track, Nemo) so no we need to get Ellen out of there and kick Body Wars up a notch or two. Then we should just about be done. Just not sure what to do with the Imagination ride. I know they just updated it, but besides the Dreamfinder, it's essentially the same ride, more or less. Kodak needs to do more with their pavillion. Swap out HISTA for something less dated, and stop closing the doors at 7pm.
If they did add another attraction/thrill ride into a re-vamped WoL to enhance the experience, I'd be all for it!....As long as Body Wars still remains a part of the pavilion. I don't want to see a new thrill ride replace Body Wars, I would instead like to see the two rides co-exist (along with Cranium Command too of course!!) Body Wars, Cranium Command, and an all new thrill ride, the new Wonders of Life is shaping up nicely!!! But what should the concept for the new thrill ride be- any ideas??
"America, keep on flying now. Keep your spirit free. Facing new frontiers."
Or....... should we scrap the new thrill ride and instead use its concept to enhance Body Wars?!! I like your idea supernova about kicking Body Wars up a notch or two. A re-vamped Body Wars could def anchor a new WoL pavilion. So the question now is: Do we want to see Body Wars along with an all new thrill ride OR should Body Wars be enhanced (essentially becoming the new thrill ride)??
"America, keep on flying now. Keep your spirit free. Facing new frontiers."
