My DS has a friend that works at DHS, I'll ask him to poke around. Normally these shows are not what he follows.
And No. I don't believe Sleeping Beauty will have the longevity that B & B has.
According to a good friend of mine whose younger sister is a CM for the College Program as a Campus Rep, rehearsals are in the works for a Sleeping Beauty live on stage type show to replace the Beauty and the Beast live on stage show at DHS. No dates were given. Anyone else hear this rumor? Are you ready to see Beauty and the Beast be replaced?

B & B has had it's run IMO, and time to move on. I think Sleeping Beauty would be a good replacement, although would much rather see a Sleeping Beauty dark ride similar to that of Snow White, which emphasis on 'dark' with Maleficent getting all nasty and dragon-like. A show would be pretty cool too![]()
I'm a huge of the BATB film and not so much of the SB film. As a matter of fact, these two films are the polar opposite for me in terms of liking.
Having said that, I was never a big fan of the BATB show at DHS. I never thought it was done well...I can't explain it. So if they replace it was a SB one, I wouldn't care. I would just hope they would do a good job of the SB one and really showcase Maleficent...the only reason I even own SB on DVD.
What about VoTLM show? I still enjoy that one, but it's dependent on the Ariel you get. A lot of people think that one has had its run too...

always plotting, planning, and looking forward to our next adventure...
B&B is so popular, I can't see it being replaced. Could the SB musical perhaps be for another park?
Well if you listen to the rumors about Tim Burton giving the "Alice" treatment to Sleeping Beauty then I could see this being true. Movie would probably be ready about the time the show is.
Rehersals already, without an announcement in place? Seems unlikely.

I doubt a Sleeping Beauty show would replace B&B. If any show is going to replace the show it would probably be an Alice in Wonderland live on stage show with the popularity of the new movie.
plus the blu ray of Beauty and the Beast should be coming out in October.
Lovin' Disney since 1982
I've heard this rumor too, but I don't remember where.
I don't like SB as much as BATB though, even though the BATB stage show I didn't care much for. I couldn't imagine SB being any better.
Very true. It'd be a great tie in to that happening... IF that's happening.Originally Posted by ohiodisneydad
Also very true... and a good point. There will be renewed interest in Beauty and the Beast as a result of this.Originally Posted by SnowCinder82

Sleeping Beauty isn't as light as Beaty & the Beast (talking cups... what the ****??). But yes, I'm very ready to see B and the B go bye-bye. Years ago. Heck, even Broadway got tired of it after a while. See ya, Belle. Don't let the door hit you on your ruffled yellow-dressed butt on the way out.
