I really like this ride, the only change I would make is to the Aliens scene. I have the same problem with my children not wanting to go on the ride because of that scene. They could easily replace it with Star Wars or with one of the super hero franchises Disney just bought ie: Iron Man, Spider Man, etc...

At this point I would be happy to see just about anything done to the ride, even if nothing changed, just clean it and polish it up a bit. I agree that the Alien scene could be scary for kids, but lets remember that Disney has never been afraid of making kids a little scared from time to time. Some of the classic movies have some intense stuff for kids. So i don't think they would change that. as far as movies they could add, I'm sure we all could make a list a mile long of worthy movies. But it really doesn't matter what they add, just as long as they do it well.
I love the movies as well, but rode it twice my last visit and had to be escorted out of the ride because of mechanical failure.
Yes, but that isn't due to the age of the ride. That will happen with any attraction (I've had it happen with TSM, and it's only a few years old. Heck, it has even happened with Harry Potter. And it's not even a year old yet).
The GMR is one of my favorite attractions. Yet, I would like some changes. But if they messed it up, especially with the CM interactions I would not be a happy camper.
I would like the imagineers from the Haunted Mansion to work on the GMR, they seem to know how to improve.

I think GMR should just update the AAs and the finale movie
Make it more Disney Themed with more classic Disney movies. The ride is fine but it is quickly becoming old and stale. I never skip it because the line is short and air conditioned.
I think if they ever do something to GMR, they shouldnt add any new scenes or even change it that much, but update the script and make it more exciting. Maybe even add the bubbles back to the footlight parade scene and have a water effect when the alien is above the vehicle. GMR is a classic now so they really shouldnt change it that much in my opinion.
