The Great Movie Ride Rehab???

I love this ride, also. It's really what the Golden Age of Hollywood is all about. I love the western and gangster sections because I really feel like I'm in some old movie. The Alien scenes? They just don't do that for me. Casablanca is cool, too. These are before my time, but isn't that what Hollywood is all about? Transforming us to times and places that are different from our own real life experiences. I wouldn't mind some changes, but if they 'modernized' it, they would lose the intrigue and charm of old Hollywood.

When I did it in August, the crowds weren't huge at DHS but the wait area was packed for the pre-show. I wouldn't change anything, except for some updates to what's already there.

The line can look worse then it is (depending on how many vehicles are running).

That's cool that you work there - the pre-show started as soon as we got in the room then about 2/3 through again before we finally loaded. I don't know if that's a better gauge of how long the wait time was.

My worry about GMR being updated is that it would no longer reflect the golden age of Hollywood as well as it currently does. There needs to be an attraction at DHS that does. I could do without the Alien part.

ya when we went in aug too it wasnt too bad of a wait once we entered the theater, just a little back into the hallway part only one que line was open too, then the preshow area every other line was being used. i think our preshow looped twice until we got in!

It's a fun place to work. I enjoy it a lot. The full preshow is aprox 8-9 minutes long. So give or take a minute, that's about a 12-15 minute wait.

That happens a lot during the slower parts of the year, where only one line is running (plus it happens later in the evening).

I think a healthy rehab every once in a while is a good thing.

I think it would be great to see the gangster/western scenes re-done. It would be nice to see a Gone with the Wind scene. Maybe "Atlanta burning" instead.

Great idea. Would love to see James Bond. Either Sean Connery or Daniel Craig.

I would like to see some of the scenes changed or be updated but I don't think they should touch the ending of the ride.

Personally, I feel the opposite. I think the scenes should be left the same (outside of minor touchups), but the Finale movie should be updated

ive never particulary liked the great movie ride i wouldnt mind if they got rid of it completly

The biggest, and one of the only things I'd change at GMR is the "Alien" section. How relevant is that part anymore? Most of the other films are classics, but "Alien" is not and it seems like something more relevant could be put there. It's served its purpose.

I don't know...a lot of people I know consider Alien a Sci-Fi classic
