The ride has pretty much lost all magic for me, but I still enjoy it every time I go. When I went in March I think they only filled one vehicle. I've never seen a crowd that light for it before.
I'm very welcoming to the update.

the update is needed... the problem people have is worry over if Lucas will push his pod racing and such on us and take away from the ride...

If they still call it Star Tours then I would think they'd stay in that line. Maybe just have the tour go to new planets introduced in the Prequel Trilogy (Coruscant, Mustafar, etc) as well as some of the Original Trilogy locations.

that has been the plan i think... i cant believe that Star Tours 2.0 is really gonna be the name of the attraction... reminds me of AOL 5.0... no bueno...

Anyway, the update sounds pretty cool to me. I agree it seemed very dated last time I rode it and could use some "plussing." There's a Yellow Submarine ride similar to Star Tours somewhere in Germany based on the animated Beatles movie that actually gives you three scenarios to ride through all ending at Pepperland. I don't see why Disney couldn't do a similar concept here. Three different Star Wars related scenarios that all end at the last scene in the Death Star.
Oh and Admiral Ackbar's gonna be in it? Tell me he'll say "IT'S A TRAP!!"
