Talk about keeping quiet. Disney employees are expressly prohibited from dating other Disney employees – hence Don’t Date Disney. A former employee of Disneyland let the cat out of the bag on that policy years ago when he tattled to “LA Magazine” about his time as Jack Sparrow. Unfortunately, someone took a photo of him and his then girlfriend, an Ariel, and showed it to the higher ups, who were displeased. However, it was going to the premiere of “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” doing an interview in costume, giving his full name, and the interview being posted online that got his Ears taken away.
At the same time, park employees are discouraged from trying to “excite” members of the opposite *** and to ignore any flirtation from guests. Tough luck, Jack, no lasses or goatee for you!

i dont think the Dont Date Disney policy is true. i know some people in the program that date other employees. you cant exactly tell someone youre not allowed to date. i think its more of a PDA type deal

i just ran into the story when i was looking for pics of wdwradio trivia pins.. tryin to see the different style pins..:) and seen this an was like wow!

The Cast Member Confidential book is quite racy as well. I don't know if all the stories in the book are true, but the author claims they are.

I was a CM and dated another CM. We didn't have any issues. I never heard of that rule when I was there. It might be something like a CM can't date a supervisor or anyone who is considered their "boss".

A. there is no way that Disney can tell you who you can or cannot date... they may frown upon it but that is about it...

This is actually a rule in most of corporate America. It's an effort to not create emotions in the work place, and if an employee's spouse gets canned, or feels mistreated, the employee might get emotional about it and maybe quit, or possibly act out. It's really just a preventative measure.

It still happens though. When I worked for the Disney Store my girlfriend and I pretended to not know each other when she interviewed for a job. We worked together for a year when our manager figured it out. I left my wallet behind (duh), and in an effort to figure out who it belonged to, he looked inside and saw a picture of us at the prom. He was good about it though and kept it to himself (after torturing me of course).
