Re: FL being revised?
what's sad is that we just sit back and expect universal to drop the ball instead of expecting disney to rise over universal with something superior
it seems many have lost their faith in disney's ability to do the amazing and insted hope for a misstep by the competition

I believe Disney is in an imagineering slump. Much like there dining plan nose dived for the last few years. Universal built a land. FL plans don't seem to be a checkmate to Universals HP. HP capacity can't keep up with the demand. That has to hurt the Disney big wigs pride and the board is likely not amused.
Picking on Universal now anticipating failure or expecting HP to fade just seems like sour grapes.

disney needs to look at HP land as an opportunity, not a problem

Re: FL being revised?
In all honesty I could care less how the general public compares Disney and Universal. If everyone prefers to go to Universal because of Harry Potter, that is great for them. I'm not a HP nut and I really don't care to see the land they built. What is great about the HP land though is Disney wants to compete and create something spectacular. Is Disney in an Imagineering slump? I don't think they are actually. They were about 10 years ago when they messed up EPCOT and blew plans for Beastly Kingdom and replaced a good original idea attraction with a Stitch one. Looking at some of the latest things though I am a bit impressed. Expedition Everest is fun, the refurb on Haunted Mansion is incredible, and Toy Story Mania is really fun and has actually spawned video games for Wii, iphone and its own plug into tv game. Plus they are finally getting rid of the nightclubs at Pleasure Island. To me Disney is on the right track. The plans for Fantasy Land Forest may not be that appealing but it isn't over. I'll wait until the finished project to truly judge but I think Disney is actually still better than Universal and are still making better improvements. Universals recent success doesn't have to do with the quality of their work but the quality of the books and movies their Harry Potter land is based off of. I love Universal, don't get me wrong, but Harry Potter magic just doesn't compare to Disney magic (I can't believe I just wrote that)

amen... i agree that a "slump" is a harsh term... but lets all of us hold our judgement of the new expansion until we actually walk it... you never know... they might still surprise us...

Why do you say that they messed up EPCOT?

maybe the lengthy time it took to open Test Track... or the constant on and off of Horizons for 5 years... or maybe closing the WoL Pavilion and adding.... nothing...
i dunno of this is the imagineers fault... but they handled some things pretty badly in Epcot Center...err... Epcot 94'... ummm... wait i got it... Epcot...! thats it...

Mission Space is terrible and it took away Horizons and Journey into Imagination is terrible now. Test Track is fun when it is working but most of the time another half hour is added to the normal wait time just because of it breaking down all the time. They could of came up with a better ride system to prevent that. Also as previously noted, Wonders of Life is now just a vacant building. I should have listed Soarin with the good new attractions in my previous post though. That is another good example of how the new imagineering is going in the right direction.

Re: FL being revised?
I'll gladly stick my hand up and be counted with those against the planned Fantasyland expansion as we know it. Based on what has surfaced so far, it looks cheap, girl-centric and oh-so generic. The fact that they are building a sizable chunk of it on hallowed turf makes the eye-melting concept art even more difficult to stomach.

The username, avatar, user location and sig block might be a slight give away?
