They do share major attractions. The fact that Disneyland has the Matterhorn where no where else does differentiates itself from Florida, Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo... If they're all the same exact park, why bother to go to them all?

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
The average person is not going to go to all the parks. One of the reasons Disney has built many parks around the world is so people don't have to fly half way around the world to get that experience. Most people on the East Coast are going to probably be WDW exclusive when it comes to Disney parks. So why not bring an awesome attraction to the East Coast for the WDW exclusive people to enjoy?

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
I would say though that it should be re-themed though. No Yeti, we already have one. Especially if they are going to put this in Fantasyland, it needs a Fantasyland feel.

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
I wouldn't expect someone to be able to make it to all the parks, no, I agree. But the coastal ones are more than possible to make it to. Disneyland should build SSE then. Matterhorn is distinctly Disneyland after being built in
'59 just like SSE is distinctly Epcot when it appeared in '82. There was plans, however, at one time to build a west coast Epcot called Westcot.

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
I see the point you make with SSE however I feel there is a distinct difference between Matterhorn and SSE. SSE is the symbol for the whole park at EPCOT. Matterhorn may have a presence at Disneyland, but it is not the symbol of the entire park. That belongs to Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Come up with something completely new. We don't need the same exact things in both parks! There are plenty of amazing and wonderful ideas that could work... especially with the fantasy forest concept. We can have swiss villages... anything. But not the matterhorn... We need to diversify. challenge. Instead of doing the same thing, and doing it better, do something better, and totally different, that would serve the same purpose. Isn't that how we advance?
I agree.. I find this very disppointing. The parks need to have unique stuff. You should not be able to ride the same rides at each park. It's getting rather boring. You get ride A at park A and then it just gets done OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I hope this trend stops NOW!

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
The Disney Undiscovered Calendar from D23 has the concept art for the Switzerland Pavilion from 1985. It was to be located between Italy & Germany and have the Matterhorn. I'm pretty sure they would not have released this concept art if it was going to happen anytime soon. As for it ending up in the Fantasyland expansion, I've seen every bit of concept art released and there is no spot for the Matterhorn. Unless they change the plans!!!

i have always been for this idea. They could also add a Pinocchio ride here. We need more rides in the World Showcase.

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
I'd willingly take the Matterhorn if it means getting rid of the Fantasy Forest princess meet and greets. That is just a waste of space.

Matterhorn in a Switzerland pavillion would be a great idea.

that was the plan years ago... but i think EE has officially killed any chance of the Matterhorn ever coming to WDW... just a personal opinion... not a fact...

That is pretty much how I feel about it. I'm not pumped for Matterhorn to come to WDW but if the choices are between meet and greets and Matterhorn, I think most people would rather have the Matterhorn.
If they did bring it to WDW I would really hope it would not be in EPCOT. I think a major E-ticket attraction like that in the World Showcase would stick out too much and take away part of the feel of walking through the countries.
