If they did bring it to WDW I would really hope it would not be in EPCOT. I think a major E-ticket attraction like that in the World Showcase would stick out too much and take away part of the feel of walking through the countries.
i agree with your thoughts on WS... i had heard that was the original idea... maybe that is the reason they didnt pull the trigger on it...

I think with the right queue, space, and noise control an E-ticket is exactly what the World Showcase needs... it wouldn't ruin the feeling of walking. I know exactly what you mean. It just needs to be well planned.
But back to the main topic...
When I hear about them saying "bring pinocchio, alice, toad, and the little mermaid, because the east coat needs them... Why? We don't need them. If anything we need something that's NOT them. That's like saying "Disneyland's castle is too small. Build Cinderella's castle over there." Disney parks, even though built with the same lands should most certainly not be copies of each other. Look as Paris's frontierland. It's incredible! It would make me want to visit Disneyland Paris! Should we build an eiffel tower over here, because we're never really gonna travel to france...

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
I've patiently followed this thread since it was first created, and now, can't help but wonder...am I the only one that gets the fact that the site all of this comes from has nothing officially, whatsoever, to do with Disney?!?! It's all a buncha' baiting, hack, Imagineer-wannabes...
Question: How many Imagineers does it take to change a light bulb? Answer: Does it have to be a light bulb?

-
Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
That's true, but we imagineer wannabe's like to discuss what would/colud happen, and the effects of it. Whether we would want to see it, if it was a good idea... why or why not. Yes, it's all speculation, but what else can we do? Unless disney puts out an official announcement for something, we can only dream about what's next.

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
All perfectly fine with me. It just sounded like so many people on here didn't get THAT fact. It's been discussed like somethin' that was actually REALLY in the works (ultimately, none of us REALLY know
?!). That's all I'm concerned about.
Otherwise, knock yourselves out, and have fun...!

It just seemed like an awful lot of folks responding thought that this was something that was actually "officially" being considered at present. Although, again, we never REALLY know for sure, do we...?

The site this comes from is in NO WAY connected to The Walt Disney Company. I've clicked on and read through all their "legalese".
Again, all have fun, but just know that that particular site is nothing more than mere speculation, dreaming and playing.

well... lets be realistic... why would they... they have Exp. Everest... putting a Matterhorn would kind of be like overkill... dont you think...?

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
I'm surprised no one has mentioned that it would throw the World Showcase off balance. We'd need that Mt. Fuji to balance things out
Oh wait. We're talking about Magic Kingdom... nevermind. hehe.
I'd like to see something that really fits into the fantasy forest concept. You can have just about anything hidden in the forest. Have a whole cave section of the park at the back of the forest... villains lair? Something water based?

yeh but this was just a thought back years ago when they were trying to drum up popularity to Epcot... now they know it would throw off balance... but... doesnt the Grand Fiesta tour and the Maelstrom give Mexico and Norway a bit of a boost being the only countries with actual rides... those circle vision theaters have nothing on those boat rides i would think... i notice how many people skip the Norway film after the Maelstrom...

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
It's a non-starter. As has been pointed out by previous posters, the window for a WDW incarnation of the Matterhorn evaporated when Everest opened: itself a far better ride.

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
Magic Kingdom just needs something sizeable to bring life back to that area of the park. I really don't know what though.

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
I personally did not like the idea of a matterhorn clone (like Mt Fuji in Japan) in the WS. It dont belong

Re: Matterhorn at MK!!!
yeh but... that is only because the updated matterhorn already has a home... in AK... its name is Expedition Everest...

Just to say you've been there?
I think there's still plenty of differences b/w WDW and DL. I for one don't know if I will ever make it to DL. I hope to one day but so far, it's not looking like it will happen.
Now are these plans just rumors or have they been confirmed as happening?
