I like this idea i say do it!!!
"Fortuosity, That's me Own word..."
When I went to Disney for the first time there was a Magic I felt. I could do anything or be anything. No feeling would ever top this......
Then I took my daughter.
Some things should just be left alone. I've never been to Disneyland but I would go just to ride the Matterhorn.
I like this idea! I have only been to Disneyland once when I was a child, haven't been since. It would be a great addition to Fantasyland!
I'm not sure how I feel about Matterhorn in MK. It's a great ride and it would be awesome to have in wdw but I also feel like it's a Disneyland classic and it should stay there plus it would be a tight fit in fantasyland and would throw off the layout of the area

Februrary - Disney Dream 3 day cruise and 4 days at WDW
I personally don't know what I think about this. I have never been to disneyland, so I think I would enjoy the opportunity to ride this ride, but I don't think it would kill me not to ride it. We have EE and that is satisfying enough to me. I think putting this ride in fantasyland would ruin that section of the park to be honest. It would throw off the theming because I always think of fantasyland to be the happiest place in the park, and "putting a big bad mountain with a yeti in it" in fantasyland would ruin it.
On the other hand:
If they DID put the matterhorn in WDW then I would prefer it be in WS in a switzerland pavilion. I think it would fit nicely here and would push more of the local teenage crowd to epcot, as I believe it needs another thrill.
Switzerland? do you mean Norway? they have the Maelstrom... personally i think Epcot has enough thrill rides in Future World... however there is a need in WS for something... the problem with the Matterhorn is that as you said EE is pretty similar... WS needs something new... something that is different from anything done before... implanting a DL attraction for the purpose of making WS more enjoyable just doesnt seem like it would work in my opinion...

I like the thought of a Mt. Fuji ride in the Japan showcase. But how far do we stray from EPCOT's original role before crossing the line into it being another thrill park?
This is a WDW forum and when do not speak of "other parks."
On another note: this may seem a bit contridictory for me talking about the "other parks" but i've had this on my mind. As people have said earlier, disney shouldn't just copy the park in different locations. I may not be a fan of six flags, but, they have at least 1/2 dozen parks and they have about idk probably like 0 rides that are the same from park to park, just sayin. Maybe (i cant believe im saying it) but maybe disney should follow the example that six flags has set it that respect.![]()
Of course they should. And part of the charm of Disneyland vs. Disney World is that there ARE slight differnces between the parks. Sure it was a shame they took out Toad, but they knew what they were doing. It's not like they replaced Toad with Pooh at BOTH parks. They left the Country Bears out east, and took it out in California to put Pooh there. So now there is a reason to see visit both parks. So do they NEED a Matterhorn ride in Florida? Me thinks not.
That's been my argument from day one... AK has EE and therefore WDW has their version of a Matterhorn... There is no need to build this attraction out east because as it was said DL and WDW are similar but not exact... Let's keep it that way... Besides of Disney had planned on building a Matterhorn in WDW it would have done so 20 years ago... That time has passed...
