yeh a 5th gate would be unnecessary until the current parks are tweaked and "plused" they all have things that can be upgraded, refurbed, or developed... leave a 5th gate for when all of this is accomplished

I'm in 100% agreement. Opening more guest space to up attendance is a fine idea, but no 5th gate until the other 4 parks get some needed TLC. DTD could use some help also the whole DTD Pleasure Island revamp seesm to have run out of stream.

Well, it was named after the place in Pinocchio. Ironically fitting in a sense in that all the things from Pinocchio is what was supposedly "wrong" with it - drinking, violence, etc.

So I'd heard. I've only been to the area once though in fairness, so I'm a complete outsider to all of this. I just think, to someone with a cynical sense of humour like me, it is a hillarious name for Disney to choose.

it once housed a decent nighttime scene... then it went downhill... should have kept it at a fee to get into Pleasure Island... not a cover at the clubs...

see i think a 5th gate now would bea good idea. maybe it would dilute the parks enough that they can referb. with out to much fuss . You know how bad it is to go to MK to find out 4 of your 5 fav. rides are closed and nothing to do. give them something else to do a distraction, (smoke and mirrors to get the much needed referbs done.

I'm not against it... I just think they need to get the other 4 parks squared away before they invest in a 5th park...

I've always felt that the LAST thing WDW needs is more resorts. More rooms means more people, which means more crowds at the resorts. Enough already.

I have been a DVC member since 1994 and honestly, I don't embrace more DVC rooms.... why??? I love the variety, don't get me wrong... but we already have BLT and WL right there... I honestly want a Poly DVC, not another craftsman style DVC... don't get it.

and by the way, I think a 5th park would be great! they need to counteract the opening of Harry.... friends went last week and Dad stated "I never thought I'd see Disney out-Disney'd, but Harry Potter area is such a great themed area that the line for the candy store was one hour long.... that was amazing". I think that is great -- Disney needs some competition to juice itself. I love the nostalgia of River Country and wish some aspects of it could be brought back.... especially for the campground. I'd love DVC campsites ... I'd totally buy that

As for a 5th park, I remember reading somewhere (can't remember) that Disney wasn't planning on doing a 5th park for at least 10 more years. They are more focused on rehabbing the other parks (*cough cough* Fantasyland). However, I would LOVE to see them rebuild and reopen River Country; however that isn't going to happen. However, a DVC going on it's place at least will get rid of the disaster that has become of the River Country site. I would like to see the new DVC get themed in a way that River Country was. When I was down there about a month ago, I took the blue flag boat line that goes past River Country; it's a complete mess.

thats what i have been saying for a while... there are alot of out of date or begging to be rehabbed attractions at WDW... not to mention areas that might need to be re-imagined... and your right River Country is a dead issue... the fact of the new laws would make reopening River Country to be quite a task... and the sad shape its in makes that an impossibility...

I heard another DVC rumor -- something shared between Grand Floridian and Poly - -probably that open space between Wedding Pavillion and GF - where the spa and tennis courts are now.
