All I know is that's its absorb to ask for such an amount for a home. I bet only the rich and famous will be able to afford that place for sure.
Very sad though that the common people of the world hard workers can never ever own there. The rich and famous I am sure do not appreciate Disney the way all the hard workers of the world will and do. What a shame....

Assuming, of course, that anybody rich never actually worked hard to get that way...

    Re: Golden Oaks Detail?

i thought that was from Horizons... oh wait... nope... it isnt...

why would someone like i dunno Hugh Jackman for arguments sake buy a house in Golden Oaks just to visit for a week at a time when he could stay at the Grand Floridian and probably spend less money...? the only possible answer would be because he wants to stay away from seeing fans everywhere... but most people arent like that...

The bus driver had it backwards (as always). There are supposed to be provisions that you cannot turn around and turn it into a rental property/timeshare.

    Re: Golden Oaks Detail?

That does make sense. And as for the fact that it was not a good move on Disney's part, I disagree with my whole heart. True, they could be a little less expensive, but remember that they also have created a whole town for Disney. Celebration was designed for the working family and was created by Disney. I just don't understand why Disney cannot make one community that is for their wealthier fans?

Those of us that cannot afford a $1 million home, could always stay even closer in the Grand Floridian.

It is just like the bad reputation that the new kennel is getting. Many people are arguing that it is very expensive and lavish. It is cheaper for me to board my dog there than it is to board here in Indiana. So, I don't know why people are complaining. I can't wait to take my dog to the World and let her stay there for a daycamp.

    Re: Golden Oaks Detail?

I love the idea ... just I don't have a cool 1.2 million to lay down and raise my kids... view this as a place for grandparents.... maybe I can afford a resale one day.... probably not, but there is always hope would love the permanent fast pass status and personal tours, etc. the conceirge treatment. looks great ... seems as tho there is more money to be made in development in individual homes vs. co-oping land to a third party hotel chain. to each his own. I'm just jealous I don't have the moolah to buy today

With the market in that area being the way it is, those 1.2 million dollar homes will go for 600,000.

    Re: Golden Oaks Detail?

Yeh but the market probably doesn't reflect in Disney World you know... There 1.2 mill is probably 1.2 mill... Anywhere else in the area outside WDW you are correct... Remember simple supply and demand... And I'm sure Disney will only sell them for the price they want... There will be few negotiations... People will pay when it comes righ down to it... Think... If you could afford it would you do it...? Your own private home of residency in WDW...
