I believe Attractions Magazine is running a story about this on their new video news thing (wonder where they got the idea for a regular news cast from lol), quoting the cruise line director as saying its definately coming back.
Yes Yes Yes! For the love of all that is good and wonderful bring back the Adventurer's Club! What a loss..... and on a side note, bring back Alien Encounter as well.
I would love to see the place recreated... with the storyline of SEA (Society of Explorers and Adventurers) tied in. Keep the old stuff, but really make it part of the amazing story that can be found beneath several attractions in Tokyo DisneySEA (hence the SEA.) and now Mystic Point at HKDL.
Oh man, I hope they bring AC back!! I was heartbroken when they ripped it away from us. I used to know the Adventurer's Creed by heart, but it's been so long that I have forgotten it. (Sad!)
It would be a wildly popular decision. If they could bring back
EO :inquis: the least Disney could do is bring back the Adventurer's Club.
They saved all the stuff so duplicating it would not be that costly.
We never got a chance to experience this one. I hope they bring it back so we finally can. I've heard so many great things about it!
Disney saves a LOT of stuff. Some of it hasn't seen daylight in 50 years.
According to recent filed plans for Hyperion Wharf, the AC isn't coming back there. What is coming? Lots of grass, apparently...
Whether AC comes back somewhere else is anybody's guess. Even Imagineers themselves seem to like teasing about it, yet nothing but 5th-hand rumors in general.
Disney saving and re-purposing isn't news to anyone who follows Disney history. Disney selling off props and artifacts isn't news to anyone either as they are often sold on Ebay.
What we know is Disney rarely seems to stick to its original designs. Fantasyland is the best example I can think of in recent history. We can look at the Grass at the Grand Floridian. By permits requested we can see a big ole building is going to sprout where there was once none.
I can dream first that AC would come back to Hyperion and then at least dream AC could sprout somewhere else any ones guess. I think it would be the height of Hubris for me say with certainty it will not ever be at Hyperion or that it is. Buildings go up and down at WDW as do attractions, likely Hyperion just like the whole DTD arena will evolve over the years and decades.
Meanwhile we can dream...:mickeykid
I whine and sigh every time I walk by the place.....
As mentioned in one of Lou's recent weekly news-casts, I think it would brilliant of Disney to bring back the Adventurer's Club as a kind of dinner theater venue (like Hoop De Doo Revue). That's exactly the kind of thing that would save it, you'd have people coming in every night but you'd also be making money from every single person, not just having people walking through and then leaving.
I would go in a heartbeat!
This week the signage for the Adventurers Club and all the chockski's around it were removed.
