there are rumors around online about the original returning when this attraction re-opens in August they will bring the original back since there was a severe fire in there earlier this year that is requiring extensive work.
Do you think the original will return? UNM is so terrible, why bother re-building it...

I so hope it is true.
The theory I heard was that it would be comparatively cheap to do and that they could then claim to have done it - or to to be seen to have done it - to commemorate the 40th.
I would love to see Tropical Serenade (or perhaps a third show), but I would be so disappointed in them restoring Under New Management and wasting the opportunity.

I would love it if they returned it to the original. The first time I did the Tiki Room was Under New Management, which I thought was VERY bizarre. After doing the "proper" one in Disneyland this past September, I realised just what WDW is missing. The Tiki room that Walt imagined is so much better! Yes, it might be a bit dated and not as high-tech as many of the other attractions, but there was something so charming about all the singing birds and the chanting tiki-gods on the walls. I for one will be very happy if Iago and Zazu are definitely on their way to the job centre!

What I think will be interesting will be if, in the event this is actually what will happen, it returns as the original Tropical Serenade... i.e., exactly as it was... or if it will return as the "original" but not really... i.e., the return of MSEP.

I doubt the current regime can overcome the temptation to "make it better".
i.e. I wouldn't be surprised by a Lady Gaga reference.

The new signage outside the closed attraction seems to imply that at least some of the original is coming back if not all.
I'm having flashbacks to Imagination. 1st, 2nd and then 3rd addition.
