I wonder what disney will do next year

For the past several years Disney has had some really go promotions. Some pretty good ones were 100 years of magic and Happiest Celebration on Earth. But Year of a Million Dreams, What will you Celebrate?, and give a day, get a disney day really take the cake for me. Then there is Let the Memories Begin. Now compared to Year of a Million Dreams, What will you Celebrate?, and give a day, get a Disney day, Let the Memories begin is kinda mediocre. Especially with this year being the 40th anniversary of WDW. I feel that Disney could have done better. With that said I wonder what Disney will do next year. Especially since the Disneyland dream suite was only open for a year during year of a million dreams. And that and the Cinderella Castle lay empty most nights i am guessing. I feel after investing money in those disney needs to use them. And next year both parks have major things opening. So my question is what will Disney do next year?

Actually the castle suite is used for the Make a Wish Foundation now. Originally I heard that as rumor but via some sort of show/interview I saw months ago (so long ago I can't for the life of me remember what it was) I at least got confirmation on that one as being true.

That said, I'd expect to see something geared around the Fantasyland expansion in some way as the 2012 celebration. I think the "memories" concept is going to continue into 2012 (since the "new" package is related) but I'd expect to see it grow into something else. I think really, 2011's celebration was the 40th and the "Let The Memories Begin" stuff was almost an early introduction. Just my gut feeling. :)

Yeah i just feel that Disney had this new technology and that this was the only way they could come up with using it. Like it is a great show and all but do we really need a year's celebration centered around it? I just feel that this year's celebration was missing something for me.

No, we don't. Nor do I care to stare at a bunch of total strangers' pictures blown up displayed on the castle.

Although it may be used for MaW, I believe it is done very sparingly. Disney also did state after YOAMD that the suite would also be available for promotional use (i.e. sweepstakes winners), etc. but would not be occupied full time. They did say you could not book the room but I believe one of the Jonas Brothers let slip that he and his wife stayed in there, so it does appear that there is SOME price that will get you in there...

Yeah, it's called being a cash cow for the Disney corporation.

I wish i was a celebrity so i could stay there.

Most "themes" last two years, so I think Let the Memorie begin will simply emphasize the new Fantasyland.

It's not even open yet, and somehow I'm already tired of the 'new' Fantasyland.

yeh... thats because Disney has soo much money wrapped up in it... they dont want us to forget about it... what they fail to realize is that we might be sick of it by the time it opens...

I am not sick of it. I am excited hearing about it. I can't wait for it to open.
