While I am all for A new parade and a Fantasmic reboot... I think Epcot has more problems than Illuminations... It needs other work first in my opinion...
I have recently read that Steve Davidson has 3 big projects for the next 18 months at WDW and at least two of them should be announced at the D23 expo. They include...
- Fantasmic! reboot with a new concept, scenes and effects (early summer 12)
- New "mega parade" at the Magic Kingdom called Festival of Fantasy (spring 12)
- Upgrade or replacement of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot (late 12/early 13)
I found this on the Mouse Chat and WDW Magic websites.
I have to say that I really hope these rumors are true!!!![]()

I want rides and proper maintenance! I couldn't care less about parades or firework shows.

I would like full pavilions please. Land needs work.....all it has is Soarin. New video for in Circle of Life would be smart. Fix Imagination. New 3D film. Eo can only last so long and Honey I Shrunk is an outdated franchise. Wonders of Life needs something of new sponsorship so it's not just "festival center.". And update Universe of Energy! Ellen doesn't even look like that anymore! So yes. Do those fixes first before Illuminations

I also read somewhere that Future world is going to get a major rehab soon and a possible new pavilion. I agree with what you are saying. I personally don't think Illuminations needs that much work. Maybe some upgrades but that's it. But I really want to see a new parade in the magic Kingdom and a new show to replace Fantasmic.
Ah, the voice of reason. Seeing an occassional photo or two tacked on to someone's trip report here on the forums can be fun. But how long am I really going to stand around watching someone else's vacation photos? ANd not just one person, but tons of 'em. No thanks.
And when it really comes down to it, has any park guest ever watched IllumiNations and said, "Wow, I really wish they'd do more with that globe's technology?" I didn't think so.
So, just see it for what it is... a nice little show to close out the night before the mad dash back to the exit.
