So it says on Illumination epcot site :-( but nothing on Disney site as yet.
Its a shame as it will be down when I go next year and I love test track![]()
Just read this. Anyone able to confirm?
Test Track will be down for an extensive renovation from Easter 2012 to September 2012. Estimated $60 million renovation.

TRIP REPORT AUGUST 2011 http://www.wdwradio.com/forums/showt...l=1#post972048
I imagine part of it will be a queue refresh to rid the place of now defunct GM brands like Pontiac and Saturn.
Hopefully they'll figure out a way to keep it running for more than 15 minutes a clip. I love the ride but the constant breakdowns which add to an already hefty wait time can be trying at times.
On my undiscovered future world tour Friday our tour guide said there was going to be a change but could not say what
ZACH
It's due for renovation I'd say. Who knows how extensive it will be, but there is so much cool new technology in vehicles that has come out since the ride opened, it would be cool if they could bring some of that into the attraction.
What do you guys think they should/will do with it?
I had heard that it's going down just after the new year... But it may have changed since August... I'd be interested to hear what the plans are...

It seems like this one is going to happen but given the history of Test Track along with the tracks and cars, could be the time-frame might have some wiggle room. From the rumblings I've heard, the new cars were "tests".
Time frame was from after New Years until early fall 2012. Also hearing the CM's have been given a heads up, likely for scheduling. The rumbles are more of the actual "ride" but I would be disappointed if Disney didn't update the queue at the same time.
While I could live without Test Track for a visit, it seems there will be little to do in Future World without her. Two side by side closed pavilions, Lordie. Sadness.

I agree that the queue needs to be updated. The evolution of my thoughts concerning that queue has been interesting.
The very first time I saw it all I could think was WOW! Excellent theming, music and sounds meshed together very nicely with the visuals, and so on.
Now all I think is "man, does it have to be this loud?!"
Still an excellent queue, but somehow more annoying than anything else...
Lately, I haven't really experienced the queue. I always hit Test Track after I get my Soarin' fast pass. My wife's not a huge fan of the ride, so sometimes I'll ride solo if she doesn't feel like going on. With basically the entire park over at the Land during the morning EMH, there is little to no line for Test Track (or Mission Space, for that matter), so I fly through the queue. Plus, if I go to the solo rider line, you can sometimes skip the preshow, too. But back to my point, I couldn't imagine weaving through that yellow piping on my way to the ride during a busy time and being the least bit entertained by the queue.
It's almost a "once was enough" kind of queue.
