monorail expansion

I saw on a website(dont remember which) that WDW was planning on expanding the monarail to MGM, AK, and even Downtown Disney. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

That would be cool, but wouldn't they almost have to build another hub like the TTC? I would think the traffic is already way too cluttered coming from TTC as it is.

This rumor has been around for years. I would say a light rail system would be more likely than any expansion of the monorail system, which bottom line is too expensive to build and maintain. Right now the buses work well and are highly flexible. Until the buses become uneconomical I see no change to the transportation system.

I'd LOVE to see a monorail run to MGM and AK-I think it is a great idea, but of course if on paper it doesn't pay for itself, I don't think it will happen.

Your right they would have to build like to more of them, Also another thing to keep in mind is the cost of not builing it but having cast memeber run it all night basically until the last park closes, like if Mk closes at 3 am, all the other have to run until 4 or 5. so if just doesnt not seems practical in that sense but man it would be sweet if they pulled it off.

That would be interesting if they rdid. I have heard for the longest time that there are monorail tracks buried underneath WDW, but they would never be used because of the amount of money it would cost to expand it the current system.
