New Star Wars ride

Any news on the front about the new star wars ride for Disney? I read (somewhere) on the force.net about the future of the star wars franchise and aside from the billions of mass merchandising, that they will be producing some live action TV shows and new ride for Disney.

Maybe a flume ride in the lava stage of Ep3? Kind of like splash mountain but with fire and jedi/sith audio animatronics.

Podrace coasters?

Journey into Jabba's imagination?

Soarin' over Hoth?

Ice station hoth?

Honey I shrunk the audience and left them in the spice mines of kessel?

The Huanted Cloud city?

Pirates of the Kessel Run?

It's a clone world after all?

Creature Cantina Jamboree?

A new ride would be cool. I have to say the story line gets old after you have seen it multiple times. I think it would be more exciting if they could add something from the newer movies but not take away from the original three as well.

Aside from licensing rights and all of the red tape that goes with doing something with Star Wars, this is such an untapped resource of some great ideas. They could build a whole Star Wars Land in one of the parks. Not only are there very diverse sources of theming, ride ideas, and interactive elements, but the popularity now transcends over many generations. Not only would I love something like this, but so would my father who is in his early 60's, and my kids would have an adrenaline overload walking into a "Galaxy Far, Far Away Land". Since the movies now span nearly 30 years, there are many fans of all ages and probably for many years to come. Disney could position themselves for the future when Lucas dies and his kids decide to put out the last 3 movies (they're going to come out sooner or later, nobody is going to walk away from the potential money that's there).

I think anything that they do would be a good step in the right direction. I agree with most here that a quick fix would be to enhance what is already there. Make at least one new movie if not 3 or 4. I think that it would truly make it an adventure to get on the ride not knowing what was going to happen and where you were going to go.

I think a pod-racing simulator in DisneyQuest would be awesome! They need some new stuff in there.

there are so many possibilites that you could do, and as mandabella said the story on star tours is getting a bit old, even just some slight changes would be good, it is and will always be such a popular movie it deserves a new ride

I would like it if I didn't yak my guts out after riding Star Tours...so I usually just wait in Tatooine Traders. I love my big cousin Brian...he's the only one who has a strong enough stomach to hold my hair back...

Anyway, anything featuring my darling Ani would suit me fine

I think it would be cool if they had different "flights" available on Star Tours - one flight to Endor, one to Hoth, another to Tatooine, Dagobah...you could choose your destination! It would also add to the atmosphere of it being a spaceport!

That would be awesome! Adding the characters from each planet/moon and it would make the ride more unique while encouraging everyone to ride it much more often!
