Now that they made SM smoother and faster at DL, instead of adding all this new stuff to MK, they need to do something about the SM at WDW. Can anyone say, "make it like DL's one?"

When we went in December, one of the DVC sales people told us they were closing it down for rehab as well this year, but haven't seen anything yet.

It would be nice if they could find a way to make it seat two people in the same seat so that my son wouldn't be so scared and the line might move faster!

I don't mind sitting one by one. As a kid I was afraid to sit alone, but my Dad always sat right behind me and put his hands on my shoulders so I was okay. But I can understand.

I really don't mind them fixing some of it. I'm always afraid I'm going to fly off the track and smack into the wall and die. But I have weird fears, so that's me. lol. :-) But I'm okay with it. I wouldn't mind a change. I'm sure it needs some upkeep.

well if you think about it
SM in disneyland was made side by side seating because of one track
    and the lack of space

and in WDW there was no lack of space so they have two tracks
so if you think about it
two tracks-single seating , two by two seating -1 track
    it all makes sense

Sure, sure, but originally you could sit two in one seat - not side-by-side, but sitting in-between the legs of the person behind you.

Not that this is necessarily the best setup, but I'm just sayin'...

Did you know that the University of Central Florida helped with the vehicles used on Space Mt. now? In our Engineering building there is a cart from SM on the wall on a track and next to it is a plaque that talks about how UCF helped. I swear I picked a winner of University!
I know this is a really old post and my reply might not get noticed, but I too noticed the Space Mountain track and car when I came for my orientation a while ago, and thought to myself that I picked a great program and a great school
