My DH could explain how this wouldn't work-the ice part not the laughing so hard you pee or spit stuff or it goes out the nose- He tried to explain to my son what happens to water when it freezes and how much of your body is water. It went on for quite some time. The condensed version is that even if Walt was frozen, it wouldn't do him any good and he couldn't be brought back to life because of how water turns to ice and what it does to the red blood cells.

But wouldn't it be cool if Walt had been frozen then brought back. Think of what all he could do with new technology-it would be awesome!

    Hey GrmGrinning,

Did some research on this myself. Lots online. Cyrogenically frozen makes a good story but a highly unlikely one. Perhaps he had talked about something as visionary as this, but he (and the world) clearly wasn't prepared for his death and the article below talks about the technology not being in place yet.

This page from Disney's own site will debunk the myth:
    http://disney.go.com/disneyatoz/fami...ide_1960f.html

What's fascinating is that this "Inside Bio" of Walt on the Disney site itself paints a very realistic (often disappointing) image of what Disney was really like from his closest friends and family. He realized the public only wanted to perceive him as a squeaky clean grandfather type and so he went to great lengths to have his cigarettes airbrushed out of photos, etc.

Here's a photo of the gravesite and there are many more online.

As a Christian I found this article (originally from Christianity.com) interesting too about Disney's spirituality from Dean Jones:

I don't know if he's frozen or not but I remember hearing as a kid that they stored him in two different places at Disneyland. The first was of course Sleeping Beauty Castle and the second, for some odd reason, was underneath the river on The Jungle Cruise.

I had heard someting of that rumor. A couple of years ago I had heard that Walt Disnay died the same day that the Pirates of the Carribean boats started moving. So then the sotry goes that they froze him and palced him into the ride. Now apparently the first part of the story is true about when he died. But to freeze him is proposterous as much as I would like to belive it. So he was buried apparently in California

Again, I highly recommend reading this official, candid Walt Disney bio on the Disney site. It answers lots of these ongoing speculations.

Walt Disney was NOT frozen because nobody was even exparamenting with that kind of technology. Just some trivia when Walt Disney was in the hospital interveiwers asked him what his favorite Disneyland ride was.His answer?"Pirates...Ships...Canonnballs...Was all he said. I'll leave that to you to figure out.
I just love World of Warcraft.
