Test Track Re-Theming?
I read somewhere (don't remember where) that Test Track will be re-themed alongthe lines of the upcoming Disney/Pixar "Cars" movie. Can anyone confirm (or deny) this? Thanks!

I thought I had heard that about the Autopia Raceway at DisneyLand (which is like our Tomorrowland Speedway). I can't see "Cars" fitting with Test Track - too major a re-theme for too popular a ride. Maybe they would add something to the post-show area.

i second with disneydame. i have heard about the autopia become rethemed with talking cars from, um Cars, but test track would be pretty weird with larry the cable guy's character driving you throught the brake test.

That makes more sense. Thanks guys.

hahaha i love larry the cable guy! anyways, the only possible WDW ride that could handle a "CARS" makeover is the tomorrow land speedway. i dont understand how popular the tomorrowland speedway is. the liune is always like 1-2 hours and all you do is drive in a cricle for 3 minutes! lol

Since GM is almost bankrupt I think the ride will be changed to stop at the mid-point and you get out and go over to a Honda or Toyota car, which will take you to a new area of the ride where you will be able to see all current GM executives bailing out of Lear Jets with golden parachutes and the former GM employees in bread/soup lines, or selling pencils or apples.

I hope test track won't change, because it is a popular ride. I agree with CaribbeanPirate that Tomorrowland Indy Speedway is DUE for a make over, big-time make over!!

yeah i would hate to see Test Track changed in any major way...i really like it as it is now...i also don't think it's always neccessary to modify ride theming to promote new movies.

while i was at WDW i was talking to a CM over at Mission Space and she said that they are just putting a new track on because it has been worn down over the years

When I was there last week, I was surpised ot see a HUGE crane lifting large pieces of metal in and out of the Test Track open roof! Clearly the refurb is on a grander scale than I had originally thought!
