    Disney Near Dollywood?

I'm not sure if anyone has heard rumors that Disney had purchased
several hundred acres in East Tennessee. That would be a huge
improvement over Dollywood (redneck Disneyland). Land is near Hwy 66
which leads into Pigeon Forge area. I wonder what they would call it?

Hmmmm.....very interesting. Not that I would replace it with WDW in my book, but Tennessee is much closer!!! Could be a nice stop over on the drive down!

Nice, Mel. Did anyone see the travel channel special on Dollywood? Other than the rednecks working there, it's actually an okay park (compared to WDW ).

That would be awesome if that is true King. Raleigh is only a quick 4 - 6 hour drive (depending on how fast you drive!! ) to Pigeon Forge. That might even fall under day trip status!!

Like I said...it depends on how fast you drive If I'm in the Mustang, with fuzzbuster in full ON mode, 4 hours. If I'm in the minivan, with full protective father mode on, then it will take at least 6 hours!

Disney's America would be a patriotic, America-themed park. Think Liberty Square meets the American Adventure meets the size of the Studios.

The last rumored location for this park was Katy, Texas, but there have been rumors of it in the Virginia/Tennessee/North Carolina area.

It would b nice to have a disney park closer to home, but its not that much closer, still need to travel for awhile or on a plane. Its sounds like it would b pretty cool but not like it would happen soon bc there is normally a longer break between opening of one park and planning for another.
