    New fingerscan machines at MK?

I just read on another mailing list that there are new machines for finger scans at the Magic Kingdom - that use only 1 finger instead of the 2. This supposedly went into effect Monday June 5th. Anybody have more information or can confirm this? And are they at any other parks? TIA

i don't know about this? I left on the 4th, sorry. But, I will say that during busy times, they weren't making us scan our fingers at all because they kept saying "the systems are so slow".

MK is testing 1 finger scan, not 2... From what I have been hearing is the 1 finger scan works better than the 2 finger scan.... Other parks are not using this biometric finger scan yet.... I don't know how long this testing is going to last, or if they will implement the 1 finger scan permanently.

I hope the one finger thing works better.....putting in 2 fingers the way it is set up is uncomfortable and not a natural way to hold fingers....just my opinion. Plus it would be much quicker way to do it.

wasn't the point of the 2-finger scan to measure the distance between the fingers - so that it was not based on fingerprints or anything.

What does scanning one finger tell ya?

The same thing the 2 finger scanner did... really nothing... they are not scanning fingerprints...

I really don't see the difference honestly.

I mean you do have the same fingerprints for every finger don't you?

no each fingerprint is different. so you'll have to use the same finger everytime you enter the parks

those finger scanners are probably one of the worst ideas ever!!!! last time me and my dad switched hotel cards/passes and got through the scanner thing just fine. The accuracy of those things is absolutely terrible and they slow things down tremendously.

I was at MK with my mom this past Friday, and yes, I can confirm they are using the one-finger scans. However, there still are four kiosks on the extreme left-hand side (as you're entering) that use the old system. When I was there on 5/30, we used those kiosks and they had a lot of trouble. So much so that Paul called people to have them fix them. I had no problems with the new systems...they are black and silver and very cool!!

    I really don't mind I mean let's be honest.

Besides the fact of a malfunction, you'd have to be pretty challenged to not be able to get it done on your first try. So let's not complain about slowing down lines.

All it is is slipping in ticket. Slipping in finger/s. Receiving ticket.
