    Sorry to bump this one back up but has anyone seen/heard of any official rehab going on there yet? I have forever hated what they did to this pavillion. In speaking with a CM back a few months ago I learned that the carousel that housed the Dreamfinder and his flying machine still exists as does the majority of the original track... it's just behind some walls and gathering dust (it was cheaper to block it off than to demolish it for the original rehab to the imagination institute theme). A friend who went on the behind the scenes tour said that the upstairs portion still has the "rainbow tunnel" and a few other random big items that were again too expensive to demolish. To me that says they could certainly bring back the original ride and play area. That said however so much of the prop and scene items were auctioned off or tossed that it'd be a huge financial undertaking.

    I know one of the big concerns fans of HISTA have is that bringing back the original will mean HISTA has to go away because it's theme won't match any longer. I disagree... I mean what did Captain Eo have to do with the original ride? LOL

    Yeah, but half the reason they changed the Imagination ride was so it'd fit the theme of HISTA and is a big reason why I prefer the new version over the old. I say if they change the ride, they should change HISTA. Not only to keep up the theme, but really, who watches "Honey I shrunk the kids" anymore?

    I couldn't agree more... on my last trip I actually over heard a dad explaining the movie to his kids after the show.

    As far as the Flight To Imagination scene being behind walls, I can assure you that isn't true. The old platform for the scene is now under the platform where you load the cars. In the second version, you could actually see the platform's imprint in the path, but now it is gone. I was upstairs about a month ago and most of the stuff is still there, but it was under tarps for the Team Possible Challenge. You can see a video of what it looked like at http://www.jedimaster1227.podomatic.com (episode #110).

    I am happy to say that this is part of the plan.

    {RE: Change of HISTA}

    I am happy to say that this is part of the plan.
    Two questions...

    1) Are you a CM? I wonder why a CM told me it was still there but hidden behind a wall. He actually had given me specifics on which wall it was behind but I can't remember...

    2) You say a change of HISTA is "part of the plan" like you know there is one. Up to this point I thought it was all still rumor that a refurb was going to happen. What do you know is definite? I'd love to hear!

    1.) No, I am not a CM; I just know alot of the right people.

    2.) While nothing is ever definite with Disney (just remember DisneyQuest Philidelphia, Disney's America, Westcot and the bullet train attraction that was going to go in Japan), plans have been set aside for this project. It is no longer a matter of "what", but a matter of "when."

    Gotcha! Well the rumor I heard that started my awareness of the project said it'd be done so that it's opening would coincide with Epcot's 25th anniversary which is in a year so... I will just keep hoping to hear someone say "It's closed with an imagineers at play sign out front". LOL

    It really doesn't look like it will happen for the 25th like we thought. But, there are plenty of factors in the World that will play into the chance for the Imagination pavilion to be redone again.

    Has anyone heard anymore about these rumors?
