Almost had the big one when I read your post. Hopefully, CoP will be at WDW forever. Have seen it about 25 times and always enjoy it, plus it's a grrreat place to relax and/or take a nap for 20+ minutes.

The carosel of progress is supposed to be the progress of a family throught the 20th Century!! You can't just keep updating the last scene and leaving the rest hanging there.

I am fortunate (depending on how you look at it, the age thing you know) to have gone on the Carousel of progress when it was at the New York Worlds Fair in NYC. I was about 6-years-old at the time and I still remember it. Also, the Small World ride was there also, that song is still stuck in my head.

my dad was there as well and loves the COP. he "drags" us on it everytime we go, because my mom refuses to go on it, and i like it, its "unique". though i agree maybe some technilogical advances would spice it up, but leave the concept!

and there is new carpet, wallpaper, and theater seats!!!! Imagineering did a great job with the guest side of the theater.

I love CoP. Isn't it a Candy station during the halloween party? At least it was last year I think. :-)

Yes, it was a trick-or-treat station at MNSSHP this year too.

Thanks Pat! I noticed during the day they had most of the trick or treat stations set up still, just without candy. I'm going on the 19th, so I won't need the map to find them!

My cousin is in WDW right now, and the other day he called me while in CoP. I know it is still open as of Saturday.

The day they close the CoP is the day I know that they really have stopped thinking about Walt and HIS dream. This will be a very sad day. That's all I've got to say regarding the matter.

That really says it all. So maybe people don't line around Tomorrowland to get into CoP, but it's one of the nice, unique attractions that separates Disney from all the other theme parks that just have rollercoaster after rollercoaster. I love sitting down and hearing that it was one of Walt's favorite attractions and that "he loved it." It's also one of those attractions that I can go on and remember being there as a kid with my family, when Disney seemed even more overwhelming and exciting than now - so many other attractions are now gone.

It will of course be difficult to figure out how to update it while at the same time keeping to the original theme, but I'm sure something can be done. I would hate to see CoP turned into some ride that features the flavor of the month movie character that will be gone in 5 years.
