    JK Rowling Signs Letter of Intent to Disney

    According to MuggleNet, JK Rowling (author of the immensly popular Harry Potter series) has signed a letter of intent to build a HP theme park.

    Personally, I would love it, but I think a theme park is too big. Perhaps a new land? Maybe even a single ride in the Studios...weren't they going to do something like this before the HCOE?

    I agree. I don't think there is enough to warrant an entire park. A ride would be sufficient. Stars Wars is insanely popular too, and even it doesn't warrant an entire land or park.

    In 20 years, they would have to tear it down because it wouldn't be near as popular as it is now.
    My dream is to play all day long at WDW!!!!

    Not necessarily...Star Tours is nearly 20 years old, and it's still going strong. Although I agree it'll probably be less popular, I don't think it will have warrented enough to be torn down.


    What are your thoughts on a HP Resort?

    Does Disney have connections with HP? I heard HP music (I believe it was Hedwig's theme) playing at MGM.

    I agree, even just a ride could lose people's interest. Look at what happened to Back to the Future over at Universal.

    The letter of intent J.K. Rowling signed is with Disney to possibly develop a Harry Potter themed attraction. Not a whole HP park of her own. It's not a guarantee that there will be something built, but a promise that they will look into it.

    It appears the MuggleNet news bite about it links to this same article, and that the poster on MuggleNet may have misinterpreted some of it.

    yeah I agree a ride not a park would be cool. Star Tours is going strong and they have Star Wars weekends so why not Harry Potter weekends

    I'd love to see a HP ride built sometime in the near future! It would be great to go on a magical adventure with Harry , Hermione , Ron , Hagrid , Dumbledore , Snape , and even crazy old Mad Eye Moody ! What a treat!
