Happy Birthday EPCOT!!!!
So what rumors have you all heard about how Disney intends to celebrate Epcot's 25th? I've already seen like 4 rumors on what people *think* they are going to do to the Epcot icon (the ball)... my favorite has got to be turning it into a big cherry and building a huge cake beneath it. HAH! Anyway... what have you heard?? We all know Disney goes all out for these events and it's less than a year away.

Really it seems to be that Epcot's 25th Annversary beat out Magic Kingdom's 35th in the "let do something BIG and CRAZY and SPECTACULAR" sense. Look for Amazing and Wonderous (no pun to the Epcot parking lots...hehe) NEW things to come to Epcot in the next year!!
It would be wonderful to have the Tapestry of Nations again, but I thought the reason there is no parade in EPCOT anymore is because people complained there was no room, for anyone who didn't want to watch it, to get around the lagoon. This was the reason given after the Tapestry finished in 2000. Personally, I loved the parade and am so glad that some of the music is still part of Illuminations.
Second star to the right....straight on till morning!!!:mickey:
Maybe they will celebrate both MK's 35th and Epcot's 25th?! Maybe a new ride in both parks will debut? Who knows, only time will tell.

Everything I've heard is that basically most of future world will get a "face lift"
-including a new pavilion where the "wonders of life" pavilion is
-bringing figment back to Imagination
- new soarin' video (definitely a sure thing, the video has already been shot according to CMs at Soarin)
- Facelift to Universe of Energy (maybe get rid of ellen?)
- new innoventions attractions
- new fireworks show
I think that's about it, but not sure.

I had heard similar things... my concern is time. At this point the 25th is less than a year away and the current Imagination pavillion is still running as normal, Wonders of Life doesn't seem to have any activity going on (at least not anything obvious yet) and Ellen's Energy Adventure is still running (God I hope you're wrong on that one, I love the Ellen overlay). I'm not sure what rumors are true but I do know that I've been hearing the Figment one for about 3 years now... "Yeah they are going to restore it back to the way it was when it opened for the 25th" and MAN oh MAN I hope it's true. Of all of these, that's the one I'm really looking forward to.
DOH! Well can't fault me for trying. LOL!

So anyone else heard anything on the anniversary?

Not much going around, unfortunately.
Time does seem to be an issue. For example, I can't see any way there will be a new pavilion where WoL is, or anywhere else for that matter, by 10/1/07. There is a rumor that the WoL pavilion WAS going to be converted to meeting/convention/large group space, but those plans were shelved because M:S has underperformed, and there's some concern about the future of that attraction.
Changes to Illuminations and/or a new fireworks show have been rumored, but nothing concrete.
I assume this is a typo and was supposed to be Dreamfinder, which has been rumored, though again, nothing much lately.-bringing figment back to Imagination
New Innoventions attractions are always possible, but those are really commercials so it depends on what sponsers are willing to pony up.
Haven't heard anything on a makeover to the Energy Adventure. A new Soarin' film was rumored even before Soarin' was brought to Epcot. Didn't happen then, but one would think it would happen eventually.
I'd be surprised if they didn't do anything, but it doesn't look like there will be anything major in terms of big new attractions. Perhaps they will get rid of the sign/wand.
Not to nitpick, but Tapestry of Nations ran until 2001, then was changed to Tapestry of Dreams, which ran until 2003. I also loved Tapestry of Nations. Dreams was ok, but I liked Nations better. And yes, the music is still used as post-Illuminations music. We have the Tapestry/Illuminations soundtrack and its gotten a lot of play! This was the reason given after the Tapestry finished in 2000. Personally, I loved the parade and am so glad that some of the music is still part of Illuminations.
I think more specifically it's bringing back the original ride/attraction. That's the rumor I keep hearing frequently. But I agree with you on the time thing... seems if they are going to do that (which would take a LOT of work) they'd have to be closing the pavillion pretty soon.
